Chips: 1,584 | | | How many home games are you a part of? How many different groups of players do you play cards with?
Meaning do you play at different locations with the same group of players, or possibly a different group of people altogether?
I dont mean how many different "games", i.e. NLHE, Omaha, Stud, etc, do you play. |

Chips: 1,584 | | | So I "finally" post something meaningful and I don't get any replies???
C'mon guys give me something to chew on!! I understand if you only play in one game obviously you really can't discuss this....but you could post something on the number of players in your group that change....like 3 regulars and then 5, 6, 7 others change each time you play, etc. |

| Sorry, but I was out at one of my home games last night and couldn't reply.
I play in two different groups. My "regular" game with guys I've known for 20+ years. And my other game where it's an ad-hoc kind of group who invite their friends over and the group is different each time.
I play a bit differently based on how "friendly" the group is. If I don't know the guys well then I play a bit more seriously than I would otherwise.
Loose wild games can be fun at times, but then there is the time to buckle down and win some serious cash! |

Chips: 14,791 | | | 1 regular Saturday night weekly game and a once a month or every other month game with work guys. All no-limit holdem with $20 buy ins. We do torneys evety once in while with the regular game but are trying to set a regular thing up.
I definatly have a differnt play - way more aggressive with the work guys.

Chips: 1,861 | | | I voted three, but I guess it's really just one game that moves around. There is a core group of "usual suspects" that can be found at any of them and then each host brings in other fish...er PLAYERS for us to play with.

Chips: 111 | | | My main game is a cash game, usually held at my place. The other game, is a tourney style at my older son's friend place. |

Chips: 1,087 | | | I voted 3 as follows:
- one cash game every Thursday night at my home with regular 6 players and the causal new faces.
- one tournament game every Tuesday at a friendīs house thatīs much more fun. We have had like ten or twelve people there.
- a 'too much money' cash game in a friendīs house in another city I occasionally travel for business. Thanks god itīs juts once a month. You have old skillful players and a lot of JW Blue Label served.
All of them are hold'em but they are all different games being the last one a USD 5/10. I wish I had skills to consistently win in this table. Who knows I can do it when I get 30 years of experience (just more than 25 missing)?
Besides that we sometimes set games with no cash involved at all. Just for the fun of it or for the ones who don't want to spend their money on poker or are willing to learn the game. |

Chips: 120 | | | I voted 3 but there is a bunch of crossover.
I've only been playing for about a year. I started with one group of friends that would setup a fun poker night every couple of months. Then I got into another game with another group of friends. And then finally I had a smaller 3rd group that started to get together. Over the past year these different groups have intermingled to the point we get about 1 game per month that rotates around. Out of a pool of about 20 people we'll get 10-12 players for a tourney night.
There is still a small group that hasn't intermingled as much and sometimes we get a 6 man game going.
Lately I've picked up another home game of about 14 people. I've only played twice but will probably be a regular.
I also found another tourney game with a guy who runs them about once a month. This one has a pretty big turn out, usually about 30 players. I'm not sure if I will be a regular at this one or not.
So I say about 3 different games. Really its quite different with the 1st group my "home" crowd where we can all be obnoxious and clown around. The other 2 games are more serious since I'm playing with more strangers.
Mainly for my tastes I just want to get a regular 2-3 games a month. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
