Re: "Proper" way to stack chips?

Count 5, match another stack of 5 to create stack of ten, match another stack of 10 to 20; count other stacks in quantities of 20.

Obviously we're not talking about splashing the pot here.

It seems that someone always needs to catch a miscount.

UUUUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

That annoys the **** out of me too.

Personally I have a hap hazard stacking method. I just build towers with no real # of chips. If I am bored or waiting out a cold run of cards I will build things with them.

Placing out small multiple stacks of chips does occur often in limit games and is an easy means for the player to insure that they are putting out the correct bet. e.g. a player in a 4/8 game that wants to re-raise on the turn may put out 3 stacks of 4 $2 chips rather than 12 $2 chips.

Insofar as someone putting out 5 stacks of 2-$25s it sounds like either they've got arithmetic challenges or more likely they've been watching too much TV, though not very closely. 2 stacks of 4 with 2 straddling (or on the side) would seem more conventional.

Heh, you think five stacks of 2 is bad? I had a guy go all in with thirty some stacks of 2. I watched him count them out (out of a tray, so each chip took forever to take out) just staring in disbelief for what seemed like five minutes. Then in about 1.5 seconds I grabbed the correct number of chips to call.

We've got one guy who's annoying beyond belief. I frequently break etiquette and reach over and count out his chips out after a verbal bet
He just stacks his chips in many random small piles and I swear he can't count higher than 9. His saving grace is that he's absolutely horrible. Ususally 2 or more rebuys every week. He's only cashed once and that was a win.....beating me heads up. No matter how bad someone is there's gonna be days they can't lose. "He tried to give his chips away, but the cards wouldn't let him.".

Anyone who has problems stacking thier chips is hereby encouraged to give them to me. I am a master chip stacker and would have no problem making yours fit in with mine.
