Okay, I was thinking more about my big 16 man, T10,000 tournament, and am wondering about what people do for a $500 race off. I'm guessing if you do real race offs for all the other chips, you should do the same for the purples.
I never really thought about how weird a 50/50 chance for a T1000 chip is. I suppose T500 really isn't too significant for most of the remaining players at that point. I really don't want to introduce "extra" chips in play by just giving an extra orange to everyone with an odd purple left. Not to mention the fact with only 80 orange, I couldn't do that anyway.
My blind schedule is posted
here.
Everyone is starting off with 12 greens, 7 blacks, 4 purples, 2 orange and 1 chocolate.
After I race off the blacks, there will be 96 purples, 32 orange and 16 chocolates in play. When/if I color up the purples, there will be 80 orange and 16 chocolate in play. Still enough chips to "feel" like a good amount head's up, I think.
As the tournament will most likely last well over an hour after we would color up the purples, what do you all think about it. Would you color up the purples?
