Wow that is awesome. That is a great room - did you build those tables yourself or did you contract the work out..

What has convinced you to switch to the all felt surface vs. just changing the surface on the racetrack one to casino felt? Curious b/c I made the same type of racetrack table.

thanks man, when i do the lights, i try to set them back under the rail 1/2 to 1" to avoid any direct glare. of course you get the reflection from the plexiglass, but it is trivial. i also put those dimmer switches you use for home lighting. but i never have to dim them, no one ever bitches. i might up the rake anyway

they are even bright enough to play with only them lighting the table, as long as the host and guests aren't too drunk yet.

ps. not sure how many of the members here frquent scotts builder page, but one of the best builders on the site just built a table for Daniel Negreanu. i thought it was super cool so i had to show you guys.

Two main reasons. First, my carpentry skills (or lack of skills) means that there are places wher the racetrack is slightly imperfect (less than straight or round as the case may be). Nobody else has noticed, but it bugs me. I would def. use a router next time.

Second, because this will also be a dining room table, I opted against cup holders. They may show under the table with the dining top on. Without the cup holders, many of the advantages are gone. I used neoprene foam, and the chips stack very well on the felt (40-50 high is no problem). I have-slip in cupholders that go outside the table, so I don't really need them anyway.

In the end, I think the racetracks look cool, but the all-felt table plays better.

As long as the images aren't hosted on chiptalk.net there is no bandwidth issue... keep 'em coming guys!

I only have one table, it's kinda crappy so I'm not going to post a picture. I'll be building some new ones shortly (planning some pretty tricked out stuff) and I'll post pics of them at the appropriate time.

heh, my chairs are folding samsonite chairs - quite ghetto.

Ya the seating in my room is quite ghetto. I am working on some leads right now. I am thinking of breaking my own rule of not buying **** on credit and buying chairs like meaner has LOL
