great story. Reminds me of a time I was short stacked in my home tourney (800 when leader had about 4000). Pushed all my chips in with Big Slick suited (AKc). Chip leader and second place call. Flop comes up QcJc10h chip leader bets, other guy calls. Turn 10c. Chip leader bets big, other guy calls. River is a rag. Chip leader bets again, other guy calls. They both flip over 10's and another card and talk about splitting the whole pot...I say "Wait up fella's"......and flip over the AK to show the Royal Flush!!! It was great!!! I went from last to third!! And I also ended up finishing third thanks to that hand!!!!

The term "suck out" is used when an inferior hand is able to out draw a better hand.

It`s amazing to me when someone holding aces actually thinks he should win, when a small pair or some other combo cracks him, that`s why it`s called gambling you get in with the best but no garranty your gonna win even though over the long haul aces should win. seen many a person including myself get cracked out of a tournament with the best hand before the flop, after the flop,on the turn, only to lose on the river, dammm this is a great game is`nt it.

yeh i know what you mean... i swear the poker gods are out for me when it comes to the river... it seems if i KNOW i dont have the nuts by the turn and someone is on a draw... it seems that even if its 1 card left... they will draw it..

I posted this on Feb 21st on twoplustwo.

Playing in a home tournament last night,£5($10)buy-in 10,000 starting chips, about 20 mins in things go crazy.Blinds are at 400/800,folded to the SB who raises to 2400 total only to be reraised to 12400 all-in by the BB.Got to mention that the BB was a bit on the merry side due to drink and had been making moves with marginal hands.SB quickly calls and turns over a pair of Aces to the BB's K,Q off, this is when the madness starts.Flop comes Q,Q,Q to give the BB quad Q's at which point he starts celebrating and berating the SB and his aces. When the turn came Ace of spades the the BB went a little quiet and then into shock when the river came Ace of hearts to bust his quads.Nobody could believe what they had seen especially the BB who erupted and stormed out and didn't return.
I just had to post this as I have never seen anything like it before and may never again.I wonder what the odds on that happening are.

DerryABU.

I now know the odds were 989/1.
Also saw something similar to reds story on The Ultimate poker Challenge recently when a guy hit quad 4s on the turn and river.
Even Pokerstars isn't that crazy
