6-8 Player Tourney Pay Outs

I was wondering what others around here do for payouts when you're playing a single table home game tourney?

We usually have 6-8 players and pay out 2-3 spots...it's obviously not much about the money to us.

However, we're jumping our buy-in to $20 (possibly $20 with an additional $5 bounty) and I'd like to get payouts nailed down a little better.

I would do 65/35 for 6

More than 6. 55/30/15

If you have rebuys go for something like the second one even for 6 players.

Re: 6-8 Player Tourney Pay Outs

I pay out 1 for every 3. And normally 50%, 30%, 20% ish...

66%, 35% on a two person payout, and 40,30,20,10 for four places.

For a 8 man game... were talking 90, 50, 20... They go up and down from there.

As a rule of thumb, tournaments generally pay 30% of the field. So take that and round up or down, as you prefer.

Re: 6-8 Player Tourney Pay Outs

Here's the standard for an online SNG:

6 Players
1st: 70%
2nd : 30%

9 Players
1st: 50%
2nd: 30%
3rd: 20%

18 Players
1st: 40%
2nd: 30%
3rd: 20%
4th: 10%

Re: 6-8 Player Tourney Pay Outs

5-7 player - 2/3. 1/3
8-15 player - 50.30.20
16-20 player - 40,30,20,10

Rounded up to nearest $20 favoring placement. eg 10 player $360 pot. 1st $180, 2nd $120 not $108, 3rd $60

When in doubt - - - pay out one more place rather than one less place.

Doesn't the WSOP pay 10%. 30% seems high. For 40 people, I pay 5. 20-35, I pay 4. Under 20, 30% sounds ok. I couldnt imagine paying 14 people for my 40 person events.

For 1 table, I generally pay 2. I think it stinks to be first in the money and only get your buy in back. I try to give them at least 50% more than the buy in, or up to 100%. So, if you pay 3, I think third should get $30. Generally, my $40 tournament pays $75 to 1st money. With the bounties, they made double the buy in.

Mark

I'm starting to feel this way as well about making it to the money only to get your money back...I like the 50% more than buy-in if I'm going to pay out 3 for a one table tourney.

Thanks for the input so far everyone!
