Grinds My Gears!

You know what really grinds my gears? People who burn all the cards in advance and deal the whole board face down to "save time." I mean, I know I'm in a soft, soft game when I see people doing that, but it's beyond aggravating sometimes.

Then the dealer for that hand wonders if they burned enough cards or the muck makes them lose track of said burn cards.

I mean, just deal the cards out as you're supposed to!

What things have you guys seen in tourneys or cash games that grinds your gears?

Just muck your cards into the board every time they do it. They will figure it out soon enough.

Around here, that'll get you thrown out of the game pronto, extra cards out or not.

How about studying the board intently, even changing your position a little so that the light reflects off the backs of the cards differently as you move. When somebody asks what you're doing, just say that seeing as how all the card backs are exposed, you're looking for markings. Don't forget to thank the dealer for not keeping the cards hidden under those pesky burn cards. A person could have some fun with this.

Why? So some moron can keep propagating possible cheating and misdeals. I get it, don't bother the fish. But when regs insist on doing it they deserve it. It teaches them to run the board correctly.

Man you guys (and gals) are wound too tight. Lighten up a little.

Do I like it when players do that? No. But I don't say anything and I just let it go - and try to have fun.

It grinds my gears when Phil enjoys himself. I like him as God intended - the Grinch that stole fun.

The other reason I don't like it is because I've been involved in a couple of hands where the board was fouled and couldn't be reconstructed. Of all the stupid reasons to have to call a misdeal, this one has to be at the top of the list. Even RROP doesn't have a remedy for this one.

I'm not worried about cheating or collusion in my game. If you're worried about marked cards, don't be cheap -- open new decks.

I deal my game -- all night long. I *might* put the turn and river out early, if post-flop action is slow and I need to hit the head or grab a beer, at most once or twice an evening.

IMO, putting the entire board out early changes nothing about the hand. I personally have no problem with anyone who does this at any game.

But if you repeatedly foul the board, for *any* reason, you'll hear about it at a minimum, be asked to leave at the maximum, and probably not be allowed back.
