Chips: 2,131 | | | Mr. M, I love your set-up, but given the idiotic laws in Texas regarding home poker games, as well as your higher profile room, equipment, and game limits, what measures have you been taking to avoid unwanted attention from the fuzz? Especially now that you are soliciting openly on the 'net? I would be cautious about that. You have read about the police netsurfing for games and the undercover busts, I hope. I would hate to see all that great gear confiscated. Take care. |

Chips: 279 | | | Poker games are legal in Texas!! We are located in a private place and we do not take a rake so no issues with the law. |

It's Friday night - post-up and worry about the cold caller on your left.... |

Chips: 2,131 | | Sorry, it's just that I remembered this post by B8factor where he worried about his game in Texas getting raided, so I thought having a home poker game was a problem in your state. Now I can see that I misunderstood his point, and that his concern was probably over the money they take out of each buy-in and the kitty to pay for the jointly-owned equipment and for refreshments. Still would be silly to bust them for that, IMO. Well, I'm glad to see that I'm wrong about those guys in Austin. BTW, are commercial, non-Indian reservation cardrooms legal in Texas?
P.S. I'm not worried about people sneaking dice chips into my game, I'm worried about people taking my lovely PJBs home with them | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
