Chips: 195 | | | How long is your home game?? I have a group of about 7 regulars that play at my house once a week. We play NL Holdem, tourney style, sometimes stud or omaha. We play 2 games and get done in about 5 hours.
How long are your games and what do you play??

Chips: 14,330 | | | I think I should nickname my group the "Leather Asses".
We start around 7:00 after people arive at 6:30 (drink a beer, grab some snacks, etc). None of our sessions have ended before 2:00 AM and have gone as late as 3:30 AM. Attendance is usually between 6-8.
Lately we're playing some 500 chip with rebuy tournaments. We typically play four tournaments a night.

Chips: 1,861 | | | start at 8. Usually it's only one or two hardcores that come over then so we play craps or backgammon or a little freezeout. Most start showing around 10, it's balls out until 2. I usually have a few stragglers left when I shut it down sometime around 5am. We have gone until 8am (thus the shutdown).

Chips: 33 | | | Our tournies usually go between 3 and 4 hours usually 8-10 players. The last cash game we had lasted only about 2.5 hrs because 3 of the 6 guys wanted to hit the bars so we shut it down instead of playing 3 handed. |

| lol. No, I believe Ten said that the points will cleared a few times before it is all ready to go...Then the whoring will begin. I don't really get them anyways :P
I have just heard people talk about their home games on other forums, and they always seem to last like 3-5 hours per game. Just wanting to get a feel if my blind schedule has been too agressive for the past year.

Chips: 242 | | panther,
Without sharing your starting chip count and blind schedule info with us, it's hard to give you advice.... but it doesn't really matter if everyone likes your game the way it is. It sounds like your game is set up good, the players will let you know if it's too fast/wild or slow/boring. Try adding a couple of more levels to your current schedule or bump each level 5 mins if you think 2.5 hours is too quick.
My game is usually 5-6 players and we start at T1500 with a slow schedule that moves up every 15 mins - we get done ~2.5 hours with no rebuys. Maybe a little longer with rebuys. I can't remember the last time we made it to 800 - 1600. We play with two decks and our tourneys are Hold 'Em only. Here's our blind schedule:
15 minute levels
5 - 10
10 - 20
15 - 30
25 - 50
30 - 60
40 - 80*
50 - 100
75 - 150
100 - 200
150 - 300*
200 - 400
300 - 600
400 - 800
600 - 1200
800 - 1600
*color-up after these levels

Chips: 132 | | | I've been making the mistake of hosting "cash game" for a while and found it can bite you in the a$$. I'd like to host a tourney but it's been difficult getting all the players there at the sme time. Hence the "cash games". Usually who ever the worste player is, with the most money in there pocket, usually takes a good chunk of change. And besides, these game can go on for hours, and hours, and hours...... |

Chips: 30 | | | We typically only see 5-7 players at our games. We play NL tourney style.
Start with T1000
Blinds are a little fast, 10 minutes a piece:
10-20
15-30
25-50
50-100
75-150
100-200
150-300
200-400
With an average of 6 people playing ,we rarely go above 200-400, hence the games last about 90 minutes. We like to get 3-4 tourneys in a night. |

Chips: 56 | | | there's about 6 regulars at our game, tho we've had a couple times where we had 8!! hahahaha...anyway, our games last about 3 hours. we've started playing two rounds lately, but the second one usually seems to go a bit quicker... | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
