I'm the only one that owns good quality stuff, but that's slowly spreading. I guess I'm being a bad influence.
I'm still using 11.5 suits chips, but at least they're the semi "clay" version. Four or five other people have 11.5 plastic chips. I'm the only one with a nice table, and they only one with Kems.
I was the first one to find and use Poker Countdown then TournamentDirector. I was also the first one to find and use a Foxwoods style blind schedule, and incorporate good starting chip counts and blind lengths. That spread quickly to the other games I attend.

Several people have mentioned playing at less organized games and not enjoying themselves at all anymore.
One friend of mine just got a decent table off ebay for his small condo. We'll see the affect, if any, my pokerchips.com order and the Paulson Egyptians have on them. Probably not that much, once they learn the cost.
But I enjoy hosting, and I don't mind at all getting all this high quality stuff, as I really appreciate it, and like using it so often. I guess it doesn't hurt that my winnings over the past year has covered all of these costs (though not mainly from my home games, we don't play for big stakes).
I've incorporated a 3 round Tournament of Champions for the end of each year, and this year I'm going to start also hosting regular Limit games and in June or July have a World Series style of 3 or 4 largish tournaments.
So yeah, I own all the good equipment, but don't mind one bit.
