| A large group of us met on the internet and started playing at a central house in the group. It did not take long of playing with .02 chips on a hard table top with cheap paper cards before I stood up and grabbed the reins. I had been playing in TX for some time and was use to a rake so I convinced a tight group, kind of the founding members, to take charge and set some sort of leadership. I dished out 900.00 for supplies and we built 2 nice tables, purchased KEM cards, trays, chairs, etc.
Since then we have been taking 1 dollar from each buy-in 1 night a week and have had a return of 600.00 so far with us taking 5.00 out of the total of that night and using to buy 3 for 5.00 liter drinks at the local market. We have never talked about WHO will own the gear and once it is paid off I could care less. The nice thing is that when something is spilt, or ripped, or burned, or whatever, I have the peace of mind that the “players” are paying for it so it is no big deal.
NOTE: That 900.00, did not include chips. Once we got the nice playing surface I introduced my nice chips to the game. Unfortunately I have lost one red chip! Probably someone putting them in their pocket when moving tables and accidentally forgetting it. We do get a lot of friends of friends.
My ONLY worry is that we may get raided one day and loose MY CHIPS. Now that the rest in almost paid off it would not matter about it, we can rebuild it better than before. Faster, stronger, and for less!!!!
