Question Handling early tournament dropouts?

Hi fellow CT-ers!

I run a weekly cash game. Main reason is the continuous play without any wait. Altough we all like tournaments there is one big problem besides little time:

Early dropouts with a maximum of 8 persons.

I don't like the faces of my guests when they bust out first to wait at least 1 hour till we can run a dropout cash game.

I expect some of you know how to handle these situations. Can you give me some advice.

Re: Handling early tournament dropouts?

hi mipevi,

like your suggestion, but this makes the problem worse. Rebuys last longer (max. 3 hour playtime).

I was more looking for a sollution to entertain those early dropouts. Don't mind they're out, but just sit and wait with nothing to do isn't fun.

Seriously though, I think you just need to find them something to do while waiting... Watching sports, playing a video game etc.

At my place we normally play either cash or a rebuy/addon tourney, so people never really have to wait.

Re: Handling early tournament dropouts?

Nah. Lately it's been just 4-6 people. Which isn't that bad since short-handed play is more fun anyway.

Tell them to play more conservatively!
