Double or Nothing + Cash

Hosted another poker night tonight with 'High Roller' as the theme. A couple of people dressed up a little but some didnt, we had a hawaiian high roller, a tshirt tux high roller, a Bollywood porn star 'Benny Lava', a shirt and tie businessman and I went as a Bond Villian with Mr Flibbles the tassie tiger

We started with a double or nothing tourney with my new high roller protege set and they guys loved them and also loved the 1 million dollar plaques.

Table ready to play

Starting stacks of 4.5 million

We had a late withdrawal so we had 7 people so when we got down to the last 3 we paid them evenly. I went alright getting pretty low but doubling up a few times to finish in the top 3.

After that we started into the cash, it was brutal, maybe going from betting 100's of thousands of dollars in the tourney and then going back to 25c or a couple of $$$ bet made everyone loose but the cash was flowing fast and within 30 mins 2 had blown their buyin.

We also decided that every big hand had to have a stupid lean photo taken.

VArious big pots

I was pretty card dead at this stage

More pots

Sam Busting Eman as Eman waves the cash for another buyin

Still Card dead

Eman coming back by winning a massive pot

At the end of the night Eman the Bollywood Porn Star was a big winner

Followed closely by Sam

and I was still card dead

It was good to give the Zero cards a bash, the protege's a bash and have a bit of fun with a funny theme

Nice pic's, I've never thought about having a themed night. Looks like fun. It may even get some people to play out of character, being dressed up!

I love the card dead pictures, Mango. I was really LOL. Strange how the cash was flowing so easily.

Re: Double or Nothing + Cash

Awesome theme. Love the Bond villain costume!

Weird "big pots". Seems like one guy always had a solid hand (full house, flush, quads, etc.), and the other guy had practically nothing (bluffing with the ninja? Top-pair-second-kicker? Middle pair - which counts for a boat, but anything above 66 is crushing him, not to mention the case A). Why can't that happen to me? (always seems to be nut flush vs. boat or set-over-set or nut flush vs. straight flush, etc.)

Re: Double or Nothing + Cash

It was a good fun night, we are all a bunch of poker clowns, heaps of bluffs that dont work, Benny Lava was going all in alot against one guy really making him think and putting him under pressure alot, it was funny to watch but the bets were just too high.

As I mentioned I think it was to do with using the high roller tourney chips 1st, the players kept thinking that $1 and $4 bets were nothing because they had just been betting millions. It was interesting from a psychological point of view but I think it was a bit much for out little game.

MAybe next time I will use the high roller chips for cash as well with 25k = 25c etc.
