The Cedar Room (Basement Remodel) & Action Pics! (latest pics post #47)

Other than building a better table, hanging up a few more things, and maybe building a drink cart or two, my basement remodel is finally done! (it only took 2+ years ) It's a relief to finally have it done. We had our first game last night. Lots of fun. I lost money in both the tournament and the cash game.

Anyway, here's how I found it:

Time to strip it to the bare bones.

I framed-in a closet and bookshelf. The divider between the bookshelf and laundry room leaves space for a drink fridge that opens into the laundry room.

Got clamps? That's a casing for the I-beam.

In half of the basement I stapled canvas on the ceiling and then covered the seams with cedar trim. I got the idea from either Wyatt Earp or Tombstone (can't remember which) where Doc is in a canvas/timber frame "saloon."

Almost done--just need to finish the closet, counter-tops and assorted trim.

Game on!

My wife and I found the stone cards in Jasper, Alberta on our honeymoon. My sister gave me the picture of Crystal, Colorado's Old Mill this Christmas, and the stock certificate is from a Denver railroad in the 1880's.

This is the consolation table for people who want to start a side game after busting out of the main tournament.

Thanks for checking it out!

Nice work. I love the cedar paneling and the stone cards. I'll bet that room smells great too with all the cedar.

Re: The Cedar Room (Basement Remodel)

WOW! Mark you did a mighty fine job. My only question is where is the chip bunker? We know you have about a dozen or so sets (open up those cabinets so we can take a look)
