If your opponents are a little loose/crazy, patience may allow you to outlast a few of em and using a correct strategy from #3 may allow you to squeak into the money, despite having an earlier disaster. Never Give Up!
Oh yeah. On a good night, I actually folded my way into the second place money. I literally won like two very small pots and basically folded down to four handed whereupon I started pushing and finished second.

If this is the case, I don't see any reason to change the way you're playing. Let the loose/aggro players bust each other and then push your way to the money.
Good rule of thumb if you're going to raise with limpers ahead of you, do your standard raise (whether that is 2.5x, 3x, 4x) and add to it the amount the limpers have put in. You gotta make it too expensive for the garbage hands to stay in. With 2 limpers and you raise to 3x, there's now at least 6x in the pot and the BB only has to pay 2x to stay in a pot essentially giving him 3:1 odds (even better if you take the SB into consideration) on that 2x call.
So if you made it 1000 to go, do you think he's folding his Tx (what was the other card btw?)
