Well, this is good. I'm at a new girlfriends house today for easter dinner. Afterwards I break out my chips for a game that the 17 year old boys want to play next Friday for his birthday party.
OK, the kid knows nothing about poker so I decide to teach him, brother, mom and grandma the game by dealing around the table and explaining the rules and the hand rankings at each turn of the cards. About 20 hands later....they are starting to get it, so I deal the cards face down and walk around to see each one saying what their options are.
So grandmom (a young 84 and bridgeplayer) is dealt

to the right of the button.
I go around and tell people what they might want to do with their cards, the possibilities for each pair pre flop, which ways they could bet being either conservative or agressive, etc.
So we then do the flop...

Now, one of the boys has two hearts, another has an Ace, etc. So it's practice right? I tell grandma that she has the kind of hand that you drool over and would probably have to call anything or raise, etc.
Turn is
Now there are two flush draws on the board, but I go through the routine with each one at the table and get back to grandma in last position.
I tell her that she has to call the bet with so many outs and it's a Royal Flush draw, heart flush and straight draw all at once.
River
And I almost fell out of my chair.
Yes, it was practice but it was the coolest thing I've even seen at the card table.
