Not 100% sure I'd want one from the Palms (nothing wrong with it... just not quite for me) but a sweet layout from somewhere might just be enough inspiration to build a table (even though I don't really have the space for it).

I guess what I'm trying to say is spill the beans on the goods!!

Love the fact that this is truly a multi-purpose table... blackjack or poker. Well done!

P.S. - Having lived in Canada for a year for work, I knew right away the game was being played in Canada (even without seeing who was the responsible party for the post). The money is unmistakable and if you ask me, infinitely more original than the monochrome stuff we have here. If I was still there, the great games in Toronto would be worth the drive from London!!! Thanks again for sharing. Back to work.

Well Gil, it was simple as getting it off eBay IIRC. My guess is that it was a factory reject, as on one side, the palm tree graphic colours don't quite match up. Millimetres off (which I don't mind one bit).

Funny thing is, we never play blackjack, and this was the first time I used it. I have black velveteen underneath which is permanently affixed to the table. The Palm's layout is temporary, and swappable if I play with a bunch of clumsy people (as I've got no cup holders - but might upgrade).

Re: Some pix from last night...

Nice setup Matty, really like the Palms layout and the Avalons are the bomb. Are those 4-color cards the Copags? That blue looks a bit too bright for Modiano.

Re: Some pix from last night...

Yeah, there the Copags. Nobody liked them, and the colour of the blue & black seemed to annoy everybody.

We switched to Kems for the cash game.

Microfibre, AKA Faux Suede. It's super soft and very easy on the elbows. A little harder to stretch without ripping, but worth it in the long run.

Re: Some pix from last night...

Thought so. I like playing with my 4-color Modianos and they tend to annoy the males in our group especially since they have trouble discerning between the clubs (green) and diamonds (blue). I find that odd, since those two suits are opposite colors anyway in a standard deck and the symbols are not alike at all. Oh well. I tend to attribute it to that special male color-blindness that has trouble telling black from brown from blue socks.

Re: Some pix from last night...

Jeff managed to finish off six bottles of scotch that night. Each bottle only really had a shot or two left, but still, a momentus feat.
