Chips: 11,731 | | | Re: How much money do you bring to a home game ? While the buy-in and what we're playing (cash vs. tourney) varies, we tend to keep it on the cheap side for a couple reasons. First, there are a couple students who attend and this amounts to cheap entertainment for all involved. Our home-game is more a social opportunity than anything else.
Second, if I'm going for money, I'll head down to the casino and beat up on the clueless folk and retirees who frequent there.
That said, I wouldn't mind a higher stakes game.... |

Chips: 408 | | | Re: How much money do you bring to a home game ? The games I play in don't get too crazy. I like to bring what I can afford to lose. I usually set aside anywhere from 75-150 to bring with me to the typical .25/.50 game. 100 for poker and 25-50 for beer, food, snacks etc. |

I play in a couple of other home games that are primarily tournaments, with reasonable buy-ins. To those I usually bring $200. I averaged it out at about $100.
