Chips: 1,127 | | | Home Game Robbery / Shooting Wow.....Home games are not even safe. I guess it can happen anywhere...just north of Indianapolis in a relatively upscale area.
Keep the chips on the table and the money hid. http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dl...LOCAL/70731002
Two men robbed a card game at a Noblesville home this morning, shooting one of the players before fleeing, police said. The incident happened about 2:30 a.m. at a residence on Lindley Drive, WTHR-TV (Channel 13) reported.
Two men broke into the home, demanded money and shot one of the players when the person argued with them, police said.
The victim’s name and condition were not immediately reported. Authorities were still on the scene at 6:30 a.m. |

From my understanding of Indiana law, the only legal place to play poker is in a casino, and from Noblesville you're at least 2 hours away from the closest one. If the poker laws in this state were a little less stupid, situations like this could be avoided. |

Chips: 39 | | | Re: Home Game Robbery / Shooting We were talking about this at the game I played at last night. Evidently, there's been 2 or 3 other games hit in the past week or so (one on the south side and one on the east side for sure, possibly others), most likely by the same two guys. The consensus was that they must be from out of town since they don't bother wearing masks. They're probably being tipped off by someone local who gets a "finders fee" from them. The stupid thing is that a couple of the games they hit were only .50/1.00 games so there couldn't have been that much money to split up.
I just wish Indiana would adopt laws like CA and allow licensed card rooms, but it will not happen as long as the river boats keep putting pressure on the congress to prevent it. Heck, I'd even be happy if they let the two pari-mutual horse tracks operate card rooms (like in FL) as both of them are located much closer to Indy than the boats.
Here's a link to a newer story with a few more details about the robbery mentioned in the OP. http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dl...D=200770731002 |

Last nights robbery was the 1st one I've heard since the armed robbery at the now shut down card room. |

a) the idea that an unarmed person (assuming the host) was trying to wrestle a gun away from an armed person.
ii) the front door was unlocked
If you are not armed yourself, STFU and lay down. Certainly would have been a different outcome in my (higher stakes) game had someone come through the door with ill intentions. |

None were "high stakes" per say, but like moose pointed out, there can be a decent chunk of money on the table even at 'lower stakes'. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
