What Would You Do???

Its Head's Up. You're the Chip Leader. Tournament Started at 7:00. 1st is $210 Second is $130. Would you Play it out and Try to win the extra 80 dollars or would you just accept the Chop and take the $170??

Re: What Would You Do???

A few added items might help people respond.

What time did it go heads up? (only starting time listed) Is there another game to follow?

What is the income range, gambling stakes range of the players?

Are either of the players known for fierce competitive spirit or being a plane ass?

What is the chip stack/blind ratio.

Personally I chop if I am holding other people up from another game on the same table, if I am in good standing with my opponent(s), if blinds are too high, or if it makes sense to for any other reason. But, I generally play for the fun of it more than the money.

Re: What Would You Do???

I would only chop it when your opponent offers you a (slighty) better part the the chipstack odds.
means your Stack 10.000, his 2.500, I would except a better part then 3/4.
Always depending of the winning chances your opponent has. Here is would definitly take more, with stacks like 7.000 and 5.500 I would go and chop it right away.
Always depending of the mood I'm in and the price money.
For a home game where the winner takes 15 bucks I'd always fight to the bitter end

Re: What Would You Do???

Oh, that's indeed pretty even. So I would make a 5/3,5 chip then.

Re: What Would You Do???

The relation of the stacks are 50K to 35K, makes 50/35 = approx. 1,4 = 140%.
the money difference between first and second place was $80 so you should get 140% of the half of $80 = 56 bucks!
that would be a good chop for you.
Plus the money for second place for both of course.
And as I know myself, there're a ton of mistakes in it.......
Actually just a pot odd calculation.

Re: What Would You Do???

Not an even chop!
You lead in chips so your chance of winning are better, that' s why you should get a better part than your opponent!

You have almost 60% of total chips ( 50k of 85k total)
you should get 60% of the money "left" to win ($80), since you both win at least $130 for second.
makes total $180.
So you loose 10 bucks if you chop even.
