Re: What Would You Do???

i wouldn't chop unless:

there were some crazy time constraints
or
the blinds were OC
or
i got a VERY good deal.

that, sir, is quite a story.

also, way to leave the most important bit of info for last. if you had given me that before i would have known it was a clear chop.

Re: What Would You Do???

Now that we know that you chopped, did you play the game out or was that it? Again, I know that there may be no reason for others to play it out but for me, I'm too competitive to just end it.

I hate choppin unless I'm a real short stack and the money is too good to refuse.

i left out what i did cause i wanted to see what the majority would do cause i was feeling a little blue for taking the chop and not having the satisfaction of winning it

i am choking.... tears too! LMAO!

i was going to say... "i'd chop.. If there was only one table & +4 people waiting to play the cash game" - heck, i've chopped 4 ways to get a cash game going.

didnt think about the dads car@home factor.... i'm getting old, i've got 10 more years until my kids can drive...

Re: What Would You Do???

Either way, you had to play well enough to make it heads up, so congrats. I'm not busting on you, I just like to finish what usually start. If I bust out, then I'll deal with that later, but again, nice win and cash.

Re: What Would You Do???

I chop to:
1 ) get another game started
2 ) It's very late in the night/morning and the other player is tired (and may have a long drive home)

I personally never offer to chop because I never want to give off that "I don't think I can win" scent. If I'm the chip leader I will never accept a 50/50 chop...and if I'm not the chip leader I want to be "paid" to go away but I usually don't expect 50/50. But since we added a season end payout bassed on league standings, there have been no chops because guys fight to the end to go after those 1st place and knockout points.

Re: What Would You Do???

In our home game with the same players every week, heads up usually chop, but not always 50-50. There a cash game after and folks want to keep playing.

With $340 to pay out, we would probably be a $190-$150 with $190 to the chip leader.

If it was a friend of a friend's game and I didn't play in it regularly, I probably wouldn't chop.
