Chips: 884 | | | Dealing style Anyone here have a style when it comes to dealing?
At my home games I would say I hand the cards out the best. Usually when I'm out early I'm always designated dealer. I put on the gear and deal out for hours. Anyway the point of this thread is I want to get some info on what it the standard in dealing. What I try to do is 7 good shuffles, cut the cards and try to deal out in 20 seconds. I heard this from a casino cash game dealer. I was wondering if there is a correct way.
Anyway here's my gear, enjoy some DEALER PRON hahahaa.... |

Seems like I read somewhere that in order to achieve a more random mix, you would need to go up to something like 15 or 20 shuffles. |

Oh, you mean deal cards.
See Aquaman's thread with a link to another thread.
At our games the deal moves around the table. I do 5-8 shuffles depending on how fast we are playing. I have been "practicing" and doing 2 shuffles and then cut, then 2 shuffles then cut.... We typically have 3 decks going per game. |

wash the deck at least once an orbit.
count the stub at least once an orbit.
you get that down and you're better than 50% of the people that deal to me in casinos!

I have a pretty extensive study in pdf format which was done on the subject, if you want to bury yourself in math for the rest of the afternoon. |

j/k dealers... I'm sure any chip geek dealers are probably quite anal when it comes to procedure. it's the lazy, talk a lot, watch TV, flirt with the waitress, don't pay attention ones that don't do this.

Any tips?
Thanks in advance.
