im not too surprised, once we went a few hand with only 43 cards or something, somebody shuffling off the table dropped and didnt care to pick them up i guess. gotta do a count twice a night i think

On a side note:
We were taught this in dealer school way back when.

Every 3 or 4 hands, when the dealer is done dealing the river, he / she should count down the stub. It's quick and easy to do, you just start clicking off cards in the muck. In Hold'em, w/10 players at a table, there should be 24 cards left in the stub. 9 players, 26, 8 players, 28 and so on.
