Chips: 91 | | | Question about payout for cash game I was wondering how you all work out the payout for cach games. Mostly if some one has an odd number of chips, how do they cash out so there is no need to start breaking out the quarters and nickels? |

Chips: 529 | | | Re: Question about payout for cash game We usually only stop playing if we get below four people. If we get below four people, then the people still in the game are either up big, or stuck big. This is an example of how we usually handle it, usually .05/.10 or .10/.25 - $40 total left in the pot.
Player 1 has $18.10
Player 2 has $8.75
Player 3 has $13.15
Every player cashes out their dollar amounts, leaving the following:
Player 1 has $.10
Player 2 has $.75
Player 3 has $.15
Play resumes as if the players had more money, at the same blinds. Usually, all three people just go all-in. The winner of the hand doesn't necessarily get the dollar, only if they're in the lead in chips. It's a random fluctuation of luck who generally ends up winning it, but it'd still take 2-3 hands straight to take the extra $.75 from the person with the most chips. People usually don't want to leave with change in their pockets. |

There will be cases where there's more than a dollar in play in change, in which we apply this example:
Player 1 has $.85
Player 2 has $.40
Player 3 has $.75
All three players go all in, and Player 2 wins, let's say Player 3 wins the sidepot
Player 1 has $.10
Player 2 has $1.20
Player 3 has $.70
It would be acceptable for player 2 to cash out his whole dollar, and leave the $.20 in play for the next hand. |

Chips: 5,839 | | | Re: Question about payout for cash game Personal experience, if we have a few loose chips (.25/.50/1), we usually just donate them to the house. I usually just round down to the nearest $5 increment and leave the rest for the host.
As to your situation, tell people to bring change. If they buyin for a $20 bill, tell them you'll cash them out in $20 bill. Obviously, you'll be rounding down at this point. If that doesn't work, invest in a few rolls of pennies; they'll figure it out.
You are hosting but that doesn't mean you need to go out of your way in make sure you have exact change so everyone gets paid out to the penny. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
