I was wondering if anyone has any advice for me on this. I am looking to start a league with only about 8-16 players by which points will be earned based on # of players and place.

I have my spreadsheet in place but I need help with a buy-in amount. We normally play a $20 freeze but with this league which I will run for about 16-20 weeks I was wondering if I should put a certain percentage or dollar amount which will go towards the final table.

Any suggestions with how to run this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Me and my friends just started a league and it is run similarly to what you are talking about. The buy-in each time we play is $20. $10 of that $20 goes into the prize pool for that night. $5 is used for a bounty on each player and the final $5 is used for the end of the season prize pool.
We are playing a short 10 week season to see how we like it. The points system are done like so:
1st place - 11 points
2nd place - 9 points
3rd place - 7 points
4th place - 5 points
5th place - 3 points
6th place - 1 point
7th through 9th place - 0 points
For the end of the season, we are only paying the top three spots in the standings by 50%, 30%, and 20% respectively.
We're about 3 weeks into it and everyone looks forward to our weekly game even more. It has definitely put a fun twist on our game.

I do have an Excel SS that is setup to handle up ot 20 players. All you do is enter the number of participants in the tourney, the number of knockouts for each player and the number of rebuys (if any) and the spreadsheet calculates the rest.

We started a league type system. We really don't play for much money, but so far everything seems to be working out.

We play 9 games (only 8 scored).
Buy-in: $5
Re-buy: $5
Add-on $1-3$

Everygame we play the prize pool is:

• 1st: 60%
• 2nd: 20%
• Last 20% is collected and added to the final table

The final Table consists of the the top 6-8 people (depending on how many we had playing in the first games)
Buy-in: $10
Re-buy: $5
No add-on

Final Table prize pool:

• 1st: 65%
• 2nd: 25%
• 3rd: 10%

We also have a bounty, but it if set up differently.
