Chips: 507 | | | Play in your own tournaments? With around 50 players expected to play in my next tournament and the subsequent cash games on the side, I was wondering if I should forgo playing so I can keep things running smoothly. This will be by far the largest event I have organized (previous tourny had 10 players) and I think I may not have the time/attention to act as the director and participate as well.
Your thoughts please.

Almost as fun as playing.....maybe not, but I would give it a shot, with that many people ya got to keep an eye on whats going on. Its almost better to stay on the floor to make sure eveyone is having a good time. Maybe have your Wife or Girlfriend be the beverage lady. Maybe you can make up some of your costs through tips from serving beverages!! |

Maybe if you cut it down to 30-40 you could play.....If it's like my game, several people don't show up like they say...

I have hosted 40 player games, and that hasd always been the accepted way top do it.
Be sure to let the field know that these people are you TC's and can answer questions and disputes, and when one ofthem busts out they will oversee things.
Problem with that is the first busted TC will want to play in a side game, which they won't be able to do. That person should get some extra beers or something....just a thought. |

They also handle the rebuys and help with chip color ups. I've ran a tourney with that many people though, but if you are going to play, definately get some trustful helpers. Good luck. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
