Yeah, new guy was just pissed... I mean you pretty much told him you had a J if he'd been paying attention. From the flop action it kinda looks like there's a J in each hand behind him... even *I* know to slow down with AA there. Heh, turns out there were two jacks behind him, just all in one hand.

The crazy thing is I can see one of them holding on to their starters for dear life in hope rather than in expectation but for both of them to go all in well removed from the nuts seems crazy. I'm glad they both did, and for a lot of money, but it still seems a bit nuts. |

But to do in such a manner that the deal came out QQ, KK, AA, then the cards on the board? Im leaning towards crazy luck of the deal. If the dealer was this good of a mechanic, he wouldnt make it so obvious IMHO. |

if this guy was that skilled as a mechanic, wouldn't a .25/.50 game be the last game he'd target? |

like smoore and others said - two decks.
like many others said - cut the decks.
If the deck is yours, I would check the crap out of it. marks, scuffs, even toss them under a black light (CSI style LOL)...
Hands like this happen... Hell people win megabucks.
Kind of funny action, but its the last hand, and I dont know how much drinking or smoking has happened.
Dude would have to be a damned good mechanic to pull that off. If he's that good, you'd probably be broke
The comment worries me, when has anyone not taken a pot down they won legitly?.... why would he say something like that?
doesnt smell legit, but its 94.5% probably nothing.

I know it is hard and it's not easy for everyone to do, but I play in one regular game and host another, and me and the buddy who runs the other game simply deal for our houses. We have regulars at both games, but also lots of new players, at least two every week. There is no cheating because we know that the same guy is dealing every hand and the cards never leave the table, or pass to another player. When we run these games, they usually start about 7:00 or 8:00. One of us plays for up to about 3-4 hours, then the other one can play if he chooses. I suggest dealing your own games for integrity, or, try to find a local kid (college age works best) to deal it for you. |

Chips: 1,818 | | | Re: What Would You Do? the more i think about this....i play in some ghetto games.. i've called out 4 cheaters in my life.
typically, i mention it to the house, of course they listen b/c i own their chips... b/c cheaters bring walgreens brands. all cheats have been chip related, bad bets, fake chips, short change, grabbing chips. etc.
am i right about the situation analysis below....
4 handed.
preflop:
UTG (KK) +3, SB (AA) call +2.75(?).... to BB (QQ) raise +10, UTG raises to 80... BB (QQ) w/ $225.... folds... preflop?
flop: "A J 10.... the turn is a Q but the river is an A"
if you're going to call out someone out for cheating.....
i think you'll have to kick out two people. maybe yourself. lol.
if QQ would have played their hand straight, no one would even be drawing to the aaaa river.
QQ should have called 80, and lost $225 on the house... vs AAA draw for A cash.
milagro. QQ dodged. el tipo tendría que setup las tarjetas w/o salsa. he smelled a rat... which i would too.
But i dont think talent like that would include your .25/.50 X people home game.... unless two rounds of bong rips are included pre flop. this dude would need a cold deck... no way. unless something else slipped into the flow & enabled a set up cold deck. albeit with one deck, unless your cards are marked, there is no cheater.
i suspect you own a piece.... would this guy come into your house to cheat? mark your cards? thats your answer.
i dunno. i dunno how the history of the home game.
if he's so good, hire him as a dealer. LMAO.

I guess I can just deal every hand so I know there is no cheating going on ad Im sure it would make everyone feel better. | First, do not assume that something is up. One hand means nothing yet. BUT - take the necessary precautions to ensure that the risk is minimized no matter who is playing.
Run two decks - use cut cards. REQUIRE A CUT. The whole whing in rounders where they all were self dealing and nobody cutting is a crock. Any respectable private game should require a cut - and not allow any complaining about it. Mix up the seating every week. if the guy is stacking the deck on his own, it will be next to impossible for him to do anything. If he has a partner, then shifting the players around also makes this difficult.
if anyone questions why - tell them that you read about the two deck thing online and that it speeds up play. Insist on a cut - stating that when money is at stake, cyts should always be used no matter what. The cut card can be explained by saying that people were flasing the bottom card too often in the past, and this will prevent that.
If the guy is a skilled mechanic, watching the shuffle and deal may not be the best time to find the "Cheat". Watch him pick up the tabled cards. Is there any pattern? Does he seem to push some cards to the left, and others to the right? Does he pick up the hands one by one? if the muck is washed into the board cards and everyones discards, then it is extremely difficult to set up the shuffle.
If you want to really be scared - come to the Chicago meetup. I ordered Gavin Smith's DVD - and they sent me an extra one for some reason. The Smith one was pretty much junk, but the extra was on the secerets of card sharks. SCARY SCARY SCARY stuff. The secion on marked cards alone will give you the willies. I will bring it for show and tell on the big screen TV. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
