I wish I was in too! Great set up man. How many players do you have in your league?

Re: Elite Poker Tour Tournament of Champions Awards

I am just starting a league and was planning to spring for a 1st place trophy for the TOC, but you have inspired me to do more! I'm definitely liking the idea of custom chips as card guards from abcgifts.

Thanks!!! We have about 20 regulars but we just started a new season so we'll probably be closer to the 30-40 range this year.

Yeah, IMO it's a lot more functional gift/award. When I did the award chips for the TOC we had "Season One" printed on the rolling edge of the chips so we can use the same design every year and just change the rolling edge wording. Just an idea for you... ABC is fantastic to work with!!!

Me too, hard to find a good group out here in the boonies, but the good news is I was re-upping my cell phone contract the other day and had a poker hat on - the salesman and I got to talking and turns out he is in a few leagues in my area. Hope it pans out....

Just to echo what everyone else has said: Congratulations on a successful tournament! You obviously run a top-notch operation!

Re: Elite Poker Tour Tournament of Champions Awards

those gifts are very nice. I run a poker league in Southern Colorado. My question for you is: Where did the money come from to purchase those gifts? Very interested in doing something like this in my league.

Thanks
TC

Re: Elite Poker Tour Tournament of Champions Awards

Thanks again for all the compliments!!!

TC Valdez: The $ for awards comes from the monthly dues ($10/mo) that everyone in the league pays. We have two events a month (tourney and cash game).

The dues also pay for food (usually pizza), drinks (full bar, beer on tap, soda, water), supplies (cards mostly), and our league website w/email. The dues don't quite cover everything but I used to go out of my pocket $300+ month in hosting expenses, now I probabably only go out of pocket $50 or so. I enjoy hosting so the $ isn't a big deal...besides I was the #1 money winner last year (over $1K profit).

If you haven't seen my poker room setup to see what all we offer check it out in this thread. http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/chipta...p-contest.html

Those are old pictures but it will give you an idea, I'll take some new pictures soon and update that thread.

Thanks again!!!
