Chips: 501 | | | Normal NLHE min/max buyin? What are the thoughts on a normal min and max buyin amount for a NL holdem cash game? We've been mostly buying in for 50xBB just out of habit, but that's probably on the low end? I'm thinking it should be 50-100x, but I don't really know.
I'd like to get some opinions before I bring it up with my group

I set a min buy in, which is based on the blinds.
So, for a $2/5 blind NL game, the min buy in would be $200
My most common game currently is a $5/10 Blind NL game which is a min buy in of $500. Next to that would be a $10/20 blinds with a min buy in of a dime.
In (*most*) no limit games, I believe there should be no cap on a buy in. If you do cap it, I'd say somewhere around 100 to 150 BB's. |

.50 $1 $20
$1 $2 $40
$1 $3 $40
$2 $5 $50
$3 $6 $75
Im way off, but in terms of Non-casino Friendly Cash games This is what my group would play.

If the game was limit a maximum doesn't really come into play, but because the size of a person's stack becomes a psychological weapon in no-limit I definitely think a max should be used... especially for a friendly home game.

I like the standard that the online sites uses which is min of 10x and max of 100x the BB. That is how you set the stakes for a NL game. If you do not set a max, someone could lose their house. |

Rebuy any time, any amount, as long as after the re buy your stack is
no larger then $100
BTW, we typically have an extra seat if you are in the vicinity

I'd like to get some opinions before I bring it up with my group | 50X the big blind is perfectly fine. As most have said here they may go up to 100X the big blind. But going just 50 times gives people the opportunity to play at least 10 fairly big hands pre-flop before being busted out (and that should last a while since most good players are patient with their starting hands). |

It's plastered across the top of my House rules. I stick with Online Casino guidelines because I know that the game would quickly become very unfriendly to a few folks if I were to let the rich-fish into a "no-max" buy-in game. As it is, these guys rarely respect a 4x raise no matter what their cards are and the tighter guys would never even play a hand knowing that one of these guys (and there's a 50/50 mix between gamblers with lots of money and tight casual players) would simply put the tight player in every time with any coin-toss hand you could imagine.
