T5 * 10
T25 * 10
T100 * 7
T500 * 1
Blinds 15 min
10/20

whoever is the most experienced at each table, make them "table captain". They are like sub-directors. If they can't handle a certain situation or don't know the ruling, they come get you. If the players don't like the ruling, they come get you.
go to homepokertourney.com and print out rulebooks. with this many people, having written rules is going to be crucial. tell everyone in advance where they can read the rulebook so no one gets blindsided with anything.
have fun and good luck.

For a T2500 tourney with 14 players, would you still recommend a 8-8-3 starting stack or would you prefer a 12 ($25)-12 ($100)-2 ($500) starting stack for each player? Quote: |

3-4 tables will be big - don't expect to run the tourney and play in it - I'm sure it's been done - but I think it will be difficult.
Consider adding an ante as well. 30 players x T2500 = 75k in play, say about half (16) rebuy - could be another 40k in play ------- Total is 115k - you'll need a 25-100-500-1000 and 5000 chip
This structure may work
Round SB/BB/Ante Time
1 25/25/0 30 min
2 25/50/0 30 min
3 50/100/0 30 min
4 100/200/0 30 min ----> 2 hours end rebuys and add ons
5 150/300/25 15 min
6 200/400/25 15 min
7 300/600/50 15 min
8 400/800/50 15 min -----> color up 25s
9 500/1000/100 15 min
10 600/1200/100 15 min
11 800/1600/200 15 min
12 1000/2000/200 15 min -----> 4 hours color up 100s
13 1500/3000/500 15 min
14 2000/4000/500 15 min
15 2500/5000/500 15 min
16 3000/6000/500 15 min -----> 5 hours color up 500s
17 4000/8000/1000 15 min
18 5000/10000/1000 15 min continue adding 5000 to SB and 1000 to ante
Good luck - Matthew | |

Either will work - it really depends on the number of chips you have. Perhaps figure on T25 greens ...
14 players x 12 chips = 168 chips needed - which would allow you to have
21 players x 8 chips = 168
or
20 players x 12 chips = 240 chips needed which would be flexible enough for
30 players x 8 chips = 240
If there are alot of rebuys in the tournament - go with 12 but don't hand out any more green when re-loading. If go with 8 chips - have the starting stacks ready to hand out again.
Make sense?

Chips: 684 | | | Re: My home game is growing quickly My game is growing like your...and all the advice is very good..two things that are a NECESSITY:
1) good tourney clock...i use one from checkNraisepoker called tourney director...it is free and I think they have the same program at pokerroom...
2) custom chips are a must...after the 2nd 'large tourney' I ended up with 1015 chips in my set...very nice of some1 to donate to my chip collection..but I don't think they were just trying to say 'thank you' for the good game...this coming tourney on the 10th there will be a nice surprise for whomever feels they can bring chips into my game since I now have labeled NEXGEN RPT..cheapest quickest route to custom/security chips..all though faux clay may be cheaper and from what I gather just a easily customized...
3) I use the table captain theme..usually not a problem...but since we play with the wives and girfriends..and use a random draw...sometimes it is a stretch to fins a 'qualified' person at every table..
4) HAVE SET RULES...we have a strict don't ask to see some1's cards rule...we try to minimize rabbit hunting...and acting out of turn in on a 1 strike rule one strike and then you are penalized the amount of the big blind on the next infraction and a multiplier there after...3rd penalty 3xBB..it woks well...something else we do is introduce one game play advice..ie position.starting hands...and one rule..the muck..acting in turn..etc..THIS helps raise the level of play...you will be surprised IF you are able to implement this...we talked about starting hands relative to position 2 months ago and this last tourney had a lot fewer family pots...t works....
Finally...remind everyone this is not vegas..it is your house and your word is FINAL (even if you are wrong..so try not to be) but there HAS TO be a definitive way to solve a problem and designate a 2nd.... |

That's why you need a 2nd... if the TD is involved in a dispute the 2nd resolves it. Now, if the TD and the 2nd are in the dispute, hopefully they can logically solve it.
