Tourney at Ddolleveot's Poker Palace

Chaude and I were going to be in Atlanta this weekend, and ddolleveot invited us to join his regular home game tournament on Saturday night. We cranked up the tomb-mobile and arrived just as the group (mostly neighbors) transformed his house into his own "Texas Dolly" poker palace. We set up his beautiful self-made tables for a rollicking night of hold 'em.

If you've played online with ddollevoet, you know how good a player he is, and that certainly carried through live. The quality of play by everyone was higher than a typical neighborhood/online group (CTers excluded, of course) with a minimum of donkey-ish behavior. But he does have one lucky sumbitch who loves to call with anything and make evil suckouts on the river!

We made good use of his 3,000 Pharaoh's chip set (!) and a good time was had by all. No money exchanged hands of course, since that would not be legal, would it officer? And no beer was drunk, trash talked, nor cigarettes smoked out back, either. Nah....

Thanks to ddollevoet and his charming wife and kids for all their hospitality. This was my first time live with a Chiptalker, but I hope to get to more of the famous home games that go on around the country.

OK, I will admit it....I am jealous. My own group has disbanded somewhat and I have only played one home game this year, and to hear all these other CTers getting involved in high quality play at their home games is bittersweet for me.

I hear ya!
The thought playing higher level poker with my fellow CTers sounds inviting.

We'll see if Jojo gets a game together when hes out here next week.

Re: Tourney at Ddolleveot's Poker Palace

Thank you for the kind words Tomb. I'm glad you had a good time. You and Chaude are welcome back anytime. We'll have to do it again when you are settled.

You did fail to mention my spectacular final table play when I pushed with the hammer after 3 or 4 limpers. ( I don't remember how many limpers for sure due the beer I wasn't drinking). Thankfully, no one called.

Also, it is not everyday that someone comes to my game bearing gifts. As kind gesture for being invited to my game, Tomb and Chaude brought me a $20 New Yorker. Thank you for that.
