Chips: 2,332 | | | Tourney at another CT'ers house. Looks like I will playing in a tourney at another CT'ers (erikk) house next weekend.
This will be the first time I have hung out with anyone personally on this board. I have had phone conversations with others. I have no idea what to expect from the players that are going to be there or the host. It should be an interesting day.

It should be an interesting day. | i've played with w16227, philthethrill, qtsooted, ky70, irun8s, spacemanspiff, and probably one or two others i can't think of.
as someone with experience in this field, let me give you some advice, x. you're there to play cards, not to chat. if he tries to chat you up, he's just after your chips. i recommend wearing your ipod if it comes to that.
secondly, look to intimidate. if erikk makes a donk play, whether you win the pot or not, you need to berate him. he needs to know how idiotic that play was, so he'll fold to you next time.
finally, look for borderline plays that you can pretend are donkish. it doesn't matter if they were actually bad plays...you should try to convince him he sucks. it's important for him to know that you're the boss. you're admin, for god's sake! your goal should be to take his chips and humiliate him in the process.
good luck and "have fun". |

When playing, ask people to place their cards well in front of them where the backs are clearly visible to you. Tell them its to do with liking the neatness of it.
Don't let anyone else shuffle or deal. |

Chips: 9,135 | | | Re: Tourney at another CT'ers house. I played at Ten's house two weeks ago. For a week before I went, my wife (and the people at work) gave me sh*t about it. They said it sounded just like something I would tell my teenaged daughter not to do. "You make friends with somebody on the internet, then you agree to meet them. You'll probably be robbed or raped."
I told this to Ten, and he said that normally this would be good advice but that we were "practically family now." Anyway, I went, I lost, I had fun.

I had the same discussion with my wife. I play in a monthly game hosted by a guy I met at scottkeen's and my wife wasn't to thrilled about it at first. Now she's call him my internet boyfriend. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
