blinds .25/.50
raise in increments of .50 before the flop ($1, $1.50, $2, and it's capped)
raise in increments of $1 after flop/turn ($1, raise to $2, $3, $4 capped)
raise in increments of $2 after river ($2, raise to $4, $6, $8 capped)
In my experiences, the kind of guys you played with will not do a whole bunch of extra raising but rather a bunch of calling. Nothing slows down wild-arse no limit players like a good game of limit poker. |

Forget PL as it will be just like NL except that it will slow down the game to count what is amount in pot. |

To say our group in volitile is a gross understatement. Playing a 25¢/50¢ NL game ($20 buy in) we ended up with over $500 in the bank when I had to leave. One guy lost his buy in within 5 minutes, rebought, lost that on the next hand, rebought, lost it two hands later, rebought, etc (he was down $140 when I left). What kills me are the hands they will play with a strong (8x the BB) raise preflop. I think they don't really care about poker but they sure like action.

Are you enforcing a "bust out" before rebuy policy???
I found this works better than allowing players just to keep topping up between hands.
Good luck... I take it you are using 25p here so I would do 25/25 for the first hour and then up it to 25/50 thereafter (dig out the kitchen timer lol)

I decided on a 2 to 1 conversion factor for dollars to pounds, so for a £10 buy-in you get $20.
So in reality, I was playing 5p/12.5p NL.
Next time, I'll probably play 25c/50c limit. |

My main cash game is $50 buy in (unlimited rebuys), with $5 max bet on any street. This seems to work pretty well. You can get big pots and make decent bets but it does control the chaos some. This might be a bit high for what you were talking about (biggest winner and loser around $200, usual up and downs around a buy in). |

Buyin for .50/1.00 limit should be about $25 and about $50 for a 1/2 limit game. I find most of the time I don't lose more than my buyin.
Or 25p/50p would work well with your denom of 25's. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
