Chips: 1,845 | | | Big issues with Tournament Director 2.0 I finally got a chance to use TD2 in my ToC this weekend and had major problems with it. The clock kept hanging sometimes only updating every 2-3 seconds and sometimes it would go 30-40 seconds. Major lag going between screens trying to do bustouts and so on. It eventually crashed and I had to restart so I just loaded up TD1.3 and went from there.
Anyone else have issues like this? The laptop this is on should be more than adequate. It's a 2.1 Gig with 256MB of memory. I need to post in the forum over there, but I'm concerned I didn't see any other mentions of this there already. TD2 looks very cool and I'd love to use all the new features, but obviously I'm not going to end up buying a license if it runs like this. Worst case I can always make due with TD1.3 |

Chips: 1,565 | | | Re: Big issues with Tournament Director 2.0 I have run it twice now for a complete tourney and I haven't had any problems. You may want to reinstall it, might be a place to start. If that doesn't work then hit the TD forum to get help directly from Corey.
Were you using a custom layout, or was it one of the premade ones?
Also check your Screen Set rotation times, that may need changed. |

Also check your Screen Set rotation times, that may need changed. | I started with one of the premade layouts and tweaked it. I also did away with the screen rotation. I just like the main screen showing. I put in a post over at the TD forums, but maybe a re-install might help also. It was just really weird. Seemed like a memory leak or something like that, but it looked like it was only using 56M or so, so there still should have been plenty available. I could alt-tab between Excel and TD no problem and Excel would be fine, but going back to TD still hag all kinds of lagging. |

Chips: 1,565 | | | Re: Big issues with Tournament Director 2.0 Can I ask why you had Excel running?
I also thought of this while I was taking a nap today, the previous version had issues with screen savers, I have always had mine off since then and even though the new version was supposed to address those issues I have still kept screen savers off. Do/did you have yours on? That may be part of the problem, who knows? |

Chips: 1,845 | | | Re: Big issues with Tournament Director 2.0 Just had Excel open to do the chip counts for each round of my ToC. Not something I would normally have, but I can't imagine why it would interfere with TD. When I would alt-tab to Excel, Excel would work fine, no lag at all.
I did have the screen saver off. I never had a problem with it crashing 1.3, but it was annoying to have the screen saver come on and have to go over to the screen and turn it off, so I just disabled it when I use TD.
No response over at TD yet. Hopefully I'll hear something. All the new features would be really cool, but ultimately useless if I don't have a functioning clock. |

Chips: 1,565 | | | Re: Big issues with Tournament Director 2.0 Very true!
I hope you get your problem figured out!! It might take a day or so to get a response over there. The number of members is pretty small, and Corey doesn't check them everyday (usually every other).
