I was just wondering if anyone has switched to version 2.0 yet? If so what are your thoughts on it vs. version 1.3x?
I have used some of the betas leading up to this new release. My impression is that they are MUCH more powerful than the earlier version, but also harder to use.
I have used the beta version for five tourneys and the full 2.0 release for one. it is a great product. Much more powerful than the 1.3 version.
Much more customizable. It isn’t really harder to use just more features. It is also set up to be the center point of the tournament management. For instance you have to buy in players before you can seat them and you have to have players bought in before you can start the timer. In the older version you could just start the timer at any time.
Are the re-buy tournments handled any differently? In the old version if you used player tracking, you had to enter every re-buy by player. It was just too time intesive, especially if you are playing. If you didn't use player tracking, then computing the payouts was more difficult. It would be nice if you could just add the total of all re-buys to the tourney pool in order to compute payouts.
My work around was to total the re-buys and entry fees, then divide by the number of players and enter that number as the tourney buy-in.
I never had a problem with version 1.3 using rebuys or addons. Whenever a player wanted to rebuy I would just hit the v key from the tournament screen and select their name. It would add their rebuy fee to the total prize pool and alter the prizes based on the new tournament.
The same is true for the add-ons. I believe the hot key is B.

I am using the full version now and i love it. He did a great job. Yes it is slightly more difficult to use, but once you get used to all of the powerful features, it becomes intuitive and very easy to move around. It took me about an hour to cutomize it to my liking.
It seems much more powerful than the old version. I can't wait to try it out on Monday night. I think it will take a few tournaments to learn all the new features.
I haven't had a chance to use TD 2.0 in a game yet, but I'm impressed with the additions to the program. I can't wait to use it and explore some of the new features
