Cash Game Bounty?

As I wait for bounty chips to arrive I'm toying with idea of also using the bounty chip in the cash game. What do you think of adding a $5 bounty chip (optional) to say a $20 cash game? Rebuys would still be unlimited, but you would lose your $5 bounty chip to the player that busted you out. If you wanted to continue on in the bounty hunt after rebuying, you would also have to rebuy a bounty chip.

What do you think?

Re: Cash Game Bounty?

Hey ky70 I think this is a good idea! I am always looking for new ideas to use in a bounty game!! I haven't had many guys who have been interested in cash games. But it might be a little more incentive to get them to try it!!

Thanks!

Good Luck with this idea!!

Re: Cash Game Bounty?

This weekend we are going to try a bounty system for our cash game.

Typically the buy-in is $20, with 25/50 cent blinds. Re-buy all you want.

This weekend I am going to propose that each $20 buy-in will actually get $18 in cash value chips, and one $2.00 bounty chip.

That bounty chip can ONLY be bet when a player goes all-in, but does not have to be matched by any callers that are NOT going all in. It is to be added to the pot by any all-in betters, and taken by the winner.

It is simply a small reward for the winner of hands that force people to rebuy, or to knock out a player.

If at the end of the night you have never gone all-in and never had to "bet" your bounty chip, then you cash it in for face value.

On the other hand if you WON some bounty chips during play, you get to cash them in for yourself.

I think it is a nice bonus, and by doing it this way, ($18 + $2) we (the house) don't have to carry a ton of change when everyone buys in for $25 (say we set it up for $20 in chips and a $5 bounty chip) and then hands us two $20 bills.

I figure that the average amount of players we have per Saturday is 8-9, and the typical amount of re-buys is about 4-5, there should be an extra $20 or so floating around in bounty chips if someone starts taking players out.

I'll let ya'll know how it works out.

Re: Cash Game Bounty?

So we did the cash game bounty this last weekend and here is my report.

It worked well.

For every $20 buy-in or re-buy, each player got $18 in real chips, and one $2 bounty chip.

By the end of the night there was $40 in bounty chips (all 20 chips I made) and the most collected by one player was 8 of them for a nice $16 bonus. (Well $14 actually, since one was his original chip.)

Everyone seemed to like it, and we will most likely incorporate it again soon.

I think I'll "save" it for the games where we have 9-10 players and the table is full. I don't think it would work really well with just a few player.

Re: Cash Game Bounty?

In cash games the player's bankroll would tend to be the bounty, so I voted against this. It's just portion of the bankroll that does not end up in the pot where it belongs in a cash game.

Re: Cash Game Bounty?

I used to offer a $5 optional bounty at my 20 NLTH game.

What happened was everyone bought them the first couple of weeks, then they became less and less popular, eventually nobody wanted them.

I just got some new ones myself so last week I had a $10 game with a mandatory $2 ?Bounty chip per buyin/rebuy. Didn't get alot of complains.

I think overall they are best to incorporate into tourneys, or if you have a very finaically diverse crowd and you know some players only want to play for the buyin, but that some players would like to have some more cash on the table as well.
