Chips: 450 | | | Would you set aside a weekend for poker? I posted this here to see if you home game running pro's think I could get this off the ground. I would love your suggestions.
I use the pokerstars.com tourney structure with longer rounds, just so everyone knows.
1. Amateur Event 12:00 pm
$5 No Limit Hold-em, Unlimited Rebuys for 4 levels, one add on after rebuy period, Winner qualifies for Main Event
2. Pot Limit Omaha 3:00 pm
$25 Freeze out
3. 7 Card Stud 5:00 pm
$25 Freeze out
4. No Limit Hold-em 6:30 pm
$50 One rebuy, one add on
Sunday, September ?, 2005
5. No Limit Hold-em 12:00 pm
$10 Super Satelite to Main Event One qualifier for every $100 in prize pool
6. Chicago 1:00 pm
$25 Freeze out
7. No limit Hold-em 3:00 pm
$10 Super Satelite to Main Event. One qualifier for every $100 in prize pool
8. No Limit Hold-em 5:00 pm
$100 Main Event Freeze out
$10 one table satelites run non-stop both days with winner qualifying for Main Event
I think that if there is enough interest it would be worth renting a hall to put this on for the poker players of Guelph and surrounding area.
I am not sure about what dates would be good, but I am leaning toward the 2nd or 3rd weekend in September.
Feel free to reply with any suggestions you might have. |

Chips: 12 | | That sounds like a really good time. I'm jealous.
BTW, my wife would kill me if I tried to play poker for an entire weekend... |

Chips: 1,514 | | | I hear you pager!! I would have some problems getting that one off the ground! I already go away for two nights, buddy's cabin fundraiser. $50 gets 4 meals homecooked- Dinner Fri, Breakfast Sat, Dinner Sat, Breakfast Sunday! All you can eat!! Beer is all you can drink for the whole weekend. Guess what they never played poker before! They play a game called Liars Dice, lots of fun, but not cards. Well I brought the chips with me and we played T1000 tournies all day Sat! Tons of fun, $5 buy ins!! Mediocre blinds so it was a complete shootout, but by the end of the night I was the only one remotely sober! It was like shooting fish in bucket!! Man I wish I could do that again this weekend!! |

The games I run, almost everyone is sober except for me, and I'm the dealer! I figure it's only fair, since everyone is pretty much a noob except for me. I play super tight and non-tricky, almost always show my cards, and give tactical advice when appropriate.
Oops, almost hijacked that one. . . umm, a whole weekend of poker? HECK yeah! I even have a good wife that understands the value of "letting the dog run loose" and would not object to me attending such an event. Too bad I'm in the wrong kind of Ontario. . . |

Chips: 1,818 | | I'm doing it this weekend Well Friday, Sat, & Sun. We raft for a few hours, fish for a couple, play cards until we can't see straight - then repeat the next day and the next.
