Down the the last 2. Just 24 hours to vote! Please choose the Dark Green chip that will (almost certainly) end up in the set:

1. 514 Sherbet Green spots
2. 514 Saturn Yellow spots

Please keep in mind that the rest of the set currently looks like this:



... where the Red will probably have 4 spots, and the Black will have Day Green and Purple (and maybe Horizon Blue) spots.

I think anyone who does not like 'sherbert' green is going to be VERY disappointed if both green chips in this set have that color.

Why was the dark green with verde spots redone anyway?

Arc yellow on this chip would be a MUCH better looking chip than either of these choices.

See the discussion thread, which contains several examples of complaints about how dark the Dark Green chip with Forest was. It had previously won against Chocolate or Adobe 514 spots -- all dark options.

I agree (and I think I mentioned that somewhere at one point...). But it looks like that's what the majority want.

As for Arc Yellow (or Peach), I figured that would look too much like the Rounders KGB $25 (either by ASM or the TR King re-makes), so I didn't include them -- at least, not in a 2-tone 514. There was a suggestion of 4a14 with Peach and Plum that looked nice, but next to the 4-spotted Red we have now, that might be too much 4-fold symmetry.

Well that's what the majority of the voters chose, but I wonder if that's what the majority of potential buyers will actually want.

I'm starting to agree. I don't like the 2 options that are the finalists, but more than that, I really liked the original. I know that monochromatic chips have their benefactors and detractors, but this chip really worked as (green with forest green), and I guess it reminded of some of the TRKs I've seen that I really liked. Currently the set has a nice blend so that it's quite versatile. I'm not sure how trying to get the red, yellow and black configurations led to a re-imagining of the chips that most of the people had agreed they liked.

I've been staying out of the voting, feeling that I could make a set from the chips already decided upon. However, one "tweak" has led to another, until several of the chips that I really liked look like they are being reconfigured into a chip that I don't like. I know I'm just one buyer, but what is driving these changes?

Too bad I didn't make the polls "public". The changes came at the recommendation of a few CTers in the discussion thread, but they're getting lots of support from voters... so more than a few somebodies seem to want these changes. After the attempted (but failed) attempts to tweak the Orange chip, I honestly didn't think the Dark Green with Forest chip would be defeated in a re-vote... But here we are!

Then again, I've been wrong with several predictions, and my personal preferences have rarely been reflected throughout this process. Almost all of the chips are my 2nd or 3rd choice from what was proposed and voted on. But it's not "my custom set", it's a set designed by ChipTalk as a collective (sorry, watched a couple ST:TNG episodes this morning). Hopefully not many people have been turned off by the recent changes, and the voting suggests that several must be happier with these revisions.

Honestly, I wasn't trying to be narrow minded when I voiced my sentiments.

I don't know, I try to come up with a set of 4 to use for a tourney configuration (25/100/500/1000) and I can BARELY put together something decent. Assuming the tri color black chip prevails (and I hope to god it does), I WAS thinking the original green/forest green + the new black + ???? (the purple chip is hideous) + the yellow 618. So its hard enough to find a decent candidate out of these for a 500 chip and I don't think I'm alone, now I cant stand either green chip! I'm leaning towards the white chip for my 500, since that's the only other one that isn't garish (pink, orange, sherbert) or just totally wrong (charcoal, blue, red, brown).

Can we re-tweak the purple chip since I think it awful?
