TMSC Round #2 - Orange Poll

TMSC Round #2

These seem to be the two most popular orange chips, so...

Simple question: Pie or 4d14

Pie:

to be decided between later ("minor tweak")

OR

4d14:

OR

Neither
(i.e. can't live with either of these)

Re: TMSC Round #2 - Orange Poll

ARGH!! There's a $%*&in' smiley in my poll options...
Wouldn't be so bad if it was orange!

Anyway, do keep in mind what other chips have been decided upon. They might undergo minor tweaks, but more-or-less looks like:

And there's about to be a poll for the red, (dark) green, and black chips...
Get your entries in by 7:00pm EST today if you haven't already.

(Oh, and there will be a follow-up poll about switching the pink chip to 358, which is somewhat dependent on the outcome of this poll... so expect to see that this weekend)

Re: TMSC Round #2 - Orange Poll

I like all three--but my answer kind of depends on whether the pink stays a pie. I'd really like to have one of these 2 be a pie option.

Re: TMSC Round #2 - Orange Poll

The pink can be quartered or 358, but for some reason I'm stuck on the 4D14 for the orange.

No question. It's pie. Yummy pie! While I want a 4D14 somewhere in the set, those spot colors don't do it for me.

My personal thoughts on 4d14 is that it's a very busy spot pattern, and I have trouble finding colour combinations that don't overwhelm the base. Ditto for 4t18. This orange chip is one of the few 4d14's that I like. I'm not sure which other chips in this set could work with a 4d14.

Another reason for 4d14 on the orange is that the pie might be too similar to the pink chip (even when one is 1/4-pie while the other is 358). While they both look nice individually, you probably wouldn't want both in a set. Not that I'd necessarily do this, but the orange 4d14 and pink pie might both work in a high-denom tourney set (perhaps with a dark colour between them).

Not that I have anything against the pie option. I think this is a win-win poll. Just playing devil's advocate.

You are on to me. I want to use both base colors in my set and would like at least one of the two to have a two color insert. I'm more flexible about insert patterns as long as the are not lame like 418 or 314. 4A12 is a favorite of mine. It might work on either chip in the progression. Not many people have used it for mock-ups so I may be the only person who likes it. The more I look at sets with a 3-color pie and a 2-color pie, the more I dislike using both in one set. I obviously favor the more colorful variety.

Complete tangent coming. I officially name the brown chip, the Milky Way chip. It reminds me of chocolate, caramel and nougat.
