how many hours will a new deck last in your game before you feel
it necessary to replace it with a new deck?

Chips: 587 | | | Re: How Long do your Paper Cards Last? At our home games we use paper casino decks for Chinese (13 card poker). One deck per day then either thrown away, recycled, or used as a squeegee for applying bondo, epoxy or any other model making stuff.
Bee cards all the way, Paulson decks are too slick and too stiff, same with Carta Mundi. |

we'd go through at least two decks a night.
I bought a case of new Bee sealed casino cards (Shooting Star)
I don't like the feel of paper cards once the get 'mushy' which seems to happen some where between an hour or three of play.
Once after an all nighter of heads up play I had a deck of KEMs start to feel 'mushy', the first and only time platics ever did that. |

Stopped using paper. I bought some of the plastic cards you sell and never have looked back.

That said when I used to use Paper (Bicycle, Tally Ho, Maverick, Bee, Paulson, etc.) I could get them to last several games (4-6 hours a session; one table) by rotating them out every break. There were plenty of times though that they'd get hosed in a few hours. I would keep a stock of a couple of dozen sets around. Any of the upper brand USPC Co. are pretty tough. For paper.
WIth plastic I have a bunch but I could honestly probably get by with 2 full set ups. I used one set up of KEMs (and then Copags) for several months straight.
Some of it depends on whether you have folks who can deal, how much eating and drinking is going on, and so forth. |

I only use plastic now these days. When we did use paper Bicycle cards, they "lasted" quite a while. As in, being used for far too long. Definitely would switch out if any particular cards were more marked than others, at least.
Playing 120's (auction 45's) at work though, that's a different story. Usually hard to get through a hand without some sort of cheating there (but it's all in good fun).
