Cobbling together some of the front leaders, ideas, and what not.
Trad cash (take a pie for fractional)
Quater Pies for all
Trad tournament (take a pie for 5K+)
Cali could be had (Blue - Yellow - Black/Charcoal - White)
Crazyiness (well that's whatever innit?)
One could have traditional Cash and Tourney and they'd still be separate
The Black is still too Samurai but I'm not sure what to replace it with (Blood Red/Hot PInk?).
I assuming the Charcoal is actually dark enough to be a typical 100 cheque. |

Is this correct? | Yes, that is correct...The Charcoal are definitely dark enough to be used as a traditional T100...If I'm not mistaken, the U.S. Poker Championships used a Charcoal Paulson chip for their T100 one year (I think either 2005 or 2006)...My Fun Nite Paulson set has Charcoal 100's. |

That said, I don't really care for yellow, and am hoping to use orange in the t1000 slot.

First, White/Almond. I think given ASMs lack of a real white chip is a selling point for these customs over ASM. I am not into almond at all FWIW.
Second, charcoal seems a good fit as it passes for grey. If people want to use it instead of black that's cool too.
Third, pink over orange, but both can be nice addition, especially as 500 above a black 100.
Fourth, that almond combo is not my favorite, not at all. Not colorful or vibrant enough.
Fifth, don't need two purples, but I am fond of laker over lavender.
Sixth, we really need a Sherbert Green in addition to a Green. It's too cool not to, and unique also.
Seventh, probably should have a brown, unless we have a different mustard/gold brownish chip.
Soooo here it is:
I would go:
White
Blue
Red (I like a red that is different than the pink).
Green
Black
Laker Purple (I suppose lavender or purple would do)
Yellow
Pink
Sherbert Green
Chocolate or other brownish
Charcoal (call it the grey chip and use it however you want)
Orange and Almond duke it out to be the twelfth chip, but almond busts out as the bubble boy. Quote:

I miss the pink quarter-pie... It looks really nice! Does anybody NEED a white chip that isn't almond? It's eating up valuable real-estate in my mock-ups, because I don't know if there needs to be a white-white in addition to an almond... That pink quarter-pie would replace my white, and I might steal that black, ... and then change the red to something less pink...
Some people have made some good points about what "other" colours are actually needed. It seems a lot of people like the charcoal chip, but then there should also be a black. I don't think that's a problem. Some questions to think about (and respond to if you have a definite answer): - Do we need both a pink and an orange? If not, which one do we keep?
- Do we really need the chocolate? It's a nice chip, but is anyone actually going to use it in their set?
- Do we need both a white and an almond? The almond w/ coral + plum seems very popular... but does it work for everybody?
- Should we have two purples? Namely, a Lavender and a Laker?
- Which of these is more important? We can't have all of a (Black & Charcoal) + (Pink & Orange) + (Lavender & Laker Purple) + (White & Almond) + (Dark Green & Sherbet Green) + Red + Blue + Yellow + Chocolate... This might be the next poll (if I can figure out a way to put it into a multiple-choice question).
Might be something like, "Which is LEAST important to you?" - Having a Charcoal, in addition to Black.
- Having a Lavender, in addition to Laker Purple.
- Having an Almond, in addition to White.
- Having a Sherbet Green, in addition to Dark Green.
- Having both a Pink and an Orange (instead of just one).
- Having a brown (Chocolate, Gold, Mustard) at all.

Chips: 92 | | | Re: TMSC Round #2 - Discussion thread I really want the orange chip because I think BCCs Canary yellow is not bright and vibrant enough for a good 1000 chip in a tournament set. It would be sad to see only yellow offered and not orange/arc yellow. I like many of the current orange mockups with the various spot patterns proposed. |

Chips: 2,971 | | | Re: TMSC Round #2 - Discussion thread OK, I think I'll say that, officially, these are the 11 mandatory colours: - red
- dk green
- black
- lavender (or Laker if you really want)
- white
- blue
- yellow
- charcoal (acts a grey or can substitute for black)
- pink
- chocolate
- Sherbet Green ('cause there's an army dedicated to this chip)
The 12th chip is up to you... could be Orange, could be Almond, could be Sky Blue (?), could be anther purple (Laker or regular, to go with the Lavender), ...
We'll vote on it later, when we've got much of the rest of the set complete.
And I propose to go a step further and start doing this chip-by-chip. There seem to be a lot of mock-ups around here with the following chips. Are we decided on these, or does somebody have a better option?
I know it might seem weird to start with the "auxiliary" chips, but these seem to be (nearly) shoe-ins, and unless somebody can come up with better versions, we'd might as well cement them in so we can focus on the progression of the other colours.
My personal comments:
As much as I like the "quarter pies", in a set like this, they only work if they're sort of monotone... otherwise it's hard to tell what colour it's supposed to be, and might not be versatile enough for some sets... so I propose they get used for the chocolate, which has become somewhat of an icon for this project since its inception, and the pink chip, since it's just wicked-cool imho and could easily work as a fractional, a snapper, a $500, a $5000, ... basically would fit in nicely anywhere! And the Sherbet 3-moon was already requested by a member of the "mixed greens nation", so I figure, if it's unanimous, we'd might as well finalize the deal.
:sigh:
Comments? Alternatives?
*EDIT* Perhaps I should say "penciled in", as we can always make some final tweaks at the end, if something doesn't quite work... But these chips seem nearly unanimous; so much so, that I don't want to bother with a poll. |

Would love to have a Chocolate quarter pie chip in the set (which could be used as a $5k chip or a $20 chip, for instance), and the Sherbert Green 3 Moon chip looks very classy and elegant to me. |

Chips: 92 | | | Re: TMSC Round #2 - Discussion thread Here are some of my favorites so far (in no particular order)
I'm not too sure yet on the green. I really liked the 8v green mocked up in some of the early posts but if its not available than 3 moon is good too. I'm not too crazy about any of the current dark green color combos so would likely have to go with a sherbert green. Other spot patterns on the orange chip are ok also.
I likely would not use the blue or white chips, and would decide between orange and almond for my 1k chip and betwen pink and chocolate for my 5k (probably pink). |

I hope this one is close to being a lock too, but it may need a vote:
Thanks for keeping this moving. We should probably give people a little time to comment while individual ideas are floated so nobody feels railroaded. I suspect not everyone can check chiptalk 30 times a day (it's cold out and I'm on vacation!)
