Chips: 637 | | | Re: TMSC Round #2 - Discussion thread I would like something like this:
The first row could make a nice cash-set with e.g.: 5c;25c;$1 and $5.
Middle row as a standard tournament set 25;100;500 and 1000.
Last row can be a fancy cash-set with 25c;$10;$2.5 and $1 , another standard Tournament set from 25 to 1000 or they can be used for some high or low denoms in cash or tournament games.
As you see, i am also a fan of the quarterpie chips. I think that is a nice chance to have the opportunity to get a colorful tournament and a colorful cash-set, wich dont tend to mix up. |

- Having both a Pink and an Orange (instead of just one).
- Having a brown (Chocolate, Gold, Mustard) at all.
| Based on polls and feedback to date:
- Charcoal and Black are a pretty even vote. Charcoal could double as a Grey also.
- Lavender and Laker Purple are also pretty even
- White with double blue is well ahead of Almond/White with Plum + Coral
- There's a lot of interest in Sherbert Green
- There's a lot of interest in Pink...would anyone actually buy Orange or is it just that we're assuming the line needs an Orange Chip?
- The mixed Brown quarter-pie is hawt.
If I were to split things up based on feedback to date, I'd summarise:
Must have:
Red
Green
Yellow
Blue
Due to the strong divide (everyone says 1 will do but people have strong opinions on which 1) maybe we should do both of:
Black + Charcoal
Lavender + Laker
After that, most wanted seem to be:
White (have I mentioned double-Blue spots yet this paragraph?)
Pink
Chocolate
Sherbert Green
And maybe Orange, Almond and Gold might drop away. If we really need an Orange, the Laker crew (which I'm a member of) seems willing to consider this Lavender chip sufficiently purple:
So maybe we could make do with:
Red
Green
Yellow
Blue
Black
Charcoal
Lavender
White
Pink
Chocolate
Sherbert Green

The one double duty chip I've noted is that Hot Pink/Blood Red Pie which could do duty as either Pink or Red. It's probably not something I particularly desire so I really don't have a dog in that race just throwing it out there.
The only other thing is the White v. Blue debate probably demands there be one of each. Again I probably wouldn't do either (though who knows) but for future generations looking for the must have $1 cheque it seems a requirement. |

pink quarter, white or blue $1, red $5.
I guess I wonder what colours are non-negotiable - will MSP require a true black and Laker purple or will charcoal and lavender be sufficient? Though feedback here suggests that Black+Charcoal will both be in demand (by seperate sets of individuals) and Lavender+Laker are likely to be also.
Oh, and one of the two sweatshirts I have in the US with me says "Got Truthiness?" Go Colbert Nation!
Is this fun or what?

Me thinks we don't need a poll. ... Daffyd for President! Does anybody need an orange?
Does anybody need a Laker Purple (if there is a lavender)?
If so, speak up!
If not...
Red

works for me as a "mandatory" 11 chips, and you can throw in 12th chip from:
Almond; Laker Purple; Orange; ??? (was there anything else worth considering?)
BTW, who voted for Sky Blue, anyway?? I don't think I've seen a single mock-up with it!
And since I don't like posting without a mock-up, here's something based on that:
Looking for suggestions, especially relating to the black, yellow, (dark)green, red.
*EDIT* Might have to hit refresh for the latest version, as I've changed this one about 4 times so far.

Chips: 225 | | | Re: TMSC Round #2 - Discussion thread I agree with the 11 mandatory chips listed j...
As long as there is a Lavender & Charcoal chip available, I am good to go...I do think it would be nice to have a blue & white chip, but it's not crucial in my opinion...I WOULD REALLY LOVE TO SEE AN ARC YELLOW CHIP...IT IS JUST SUCH A GOOD LOOKING COLOR!
I still like the Dark Green chip from my set the best out of what I have seen...actually, there was one other I liked...Dark Green w/ Sherbert Green & Verde.
For a yellow chip, I say either Dark blue, Brown, or Black edge spots...I think I am leaning toward black edge spots now...Oh, and I'm really liking the W. Orange & White edge spots on the Charcoal chip...here is my set attached again (sorry about using the old charcoal color).
Great work on this j! |

Chips: 1,700 | | | Re: TMSC Round #2 - Discussion thread JDufords post is spot on with the following cavaets:
The color scheme for Black is too "Samurai". I know it's not that chip exactly but it feels like it should be part of that set. Nothing wrong with that mind, it's just it's been done (more or less).
I really like Smitty's Black 6A18 Almond/Orange though again I'd do it as 614 (the most 8V like pattern).
FWIW I really like Sky Blue but can't feature it in a set that also has SG. |

I'd definitely like to see the (dark) green have 2 spot colours if the sherbert green has only one. And I'm wondering if the yellow-blue that got some votes might be liked - it would work as a Cali $20 as well as a T1000. Plus there's my latest black. The obligatory mock-up:
Regards,
David.
EDIT: The black is very Samurai $100. Oops, I guess great minds think alike sometimes. |

Chips: 48 | | | Re: TMSC Round #2 - Discussion thread I've never been too big on having chips in a set that either looked the same and/or were very similar...arc yellow/w.day orange, white/almond etc. After looking at jd's post below, I started having 2nd thoughts on some of the options. http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/holdem...tml#post705071
I think having orange in the set would be good, but then again having arc yellow for a .25c chip, IMO would be awesome. I could definately compromise on the white/almond issue as I think coral & plum would great there also (personal prefference!) I'm a huge fan of the chips in jd's post but they really are so close together after seeing the snapshots. It's just me but I still think that having a charcoal & lavendar chip in the set is a must have! Could I live with black in there to...sure, but I agree that if they both make it then both chips (lk. purple & lavendar also), need to have their own unique spot /color pattern.
It's getting exciting to see that just when it appears that something is almost lined out... things get tossed up in the air again! You're doing a great job jd |

Chips: 340 | | | Re: TMSC Round #2 - Discussion thread Here's some high-polling black colour variants with varying degrees of Samurai-ness:
There seems to be some love for the Black with Day Green and Purple but what happened to the original top-scoring charcoal (black+blue or black+grey spots)? Who was interested in it and what did they have in mind?
