Re: TMSC Round #2 - Discussion thread

Where are people at with the "Black" chips?

I was cogitating last night and decided I can be a full fledged member of team Charcoal if either of the Charcoal w/ Almond/Orange or Charcoal w/ Almond/Canary Yellow are put forward. Strongly biased toward the first. I really like 6A14 for this chip since 8V is not available.

Even though I'm booster for Black none of the recent mockups have done it for me. The one I really like I've not seen much of even though it was voted #1 (Black w/ Blood Red/Hot Pink).

I really like the 4D18 for the Lavendar chip that's been hanging around since early days, but anyone favor the 3U for that? I saw a mock up (slightly different colors) a page or so back that appealed.

It's awful quiet around here. Maybe I just think that because I "talk" so much.

Re: TMSC Round #2 - Discussion thread

You mean these?

I probably will not get black, though I do think that black would make the overall set more versatile, and charcoal should be in the discussion of other colors. Also, I think the charcoal looks very good as a solid.

I'm going to be hard to reach for the next few days... May not be on ChipTalk.net at all tomorrow (Valentine's Day). Will be unreachable most of Friday. Will be away all day Saturday and Monday.

In my absence, please keep mocking up chip sets, keep proposing ideas of how to go forward, keep discussing what looks good and what looks like @$$...

I'll try to catch up on Friday night and Sunday morning, at which time I'll reply to posts and PMs, and generally say "hi".

Re: TMSC Round #2 - Discussion thread

Since JD is away I say we take over. I put forward a whole new direction for this project.

Ahem!! Um, maybe NOT!

Perhaps I could leave you with this to think about: My hesitation to use the "black with pink and blood red" combo is that there is already a lot of red/pink in the set (in the pink chip and potentially in the red chip). But it might not be as much of a bad thing as I thought. Here's a mock-up to illustrate:

Notice I repeated the spot combos on the black/charcoal and almond/white since they're basically a "choose one not both" sort of option... Although on second thought, this might reduce versatility by limiting choice (forcing you to go with that spot type). Oh well. Please feel free to comment.

No worries. Like I said, the Black and Red finalists are my least favorite. The Black mock-up you referenced was just another option that I hadn't seen presented.

Re: TMSC Round #2 - Discussion thread

I Can easily make a set out of JD's offerings:

Shebert Green 3Moon Verde T25
Charcoal 6A14 Almond/Orange T100
Lavendar 4D18 Laker Purple/Hot Pink T500
Chocolate 1/4Pie Gold/Mustard T1000

And any one of the following for a T5000

Horizon Blue 358 Dark Blue
Almond 4T18 Coral/Almond/Plum
White 4T18 Dark Blue/White/Dolphin Blue
or some Orange or Pink.

I'm very good with where we seem to be. Matter of fact I'd put money down today.

On a side note someone asked about costing. Using my advanced math technique (I watch enough of the Count on Sesame Street to have my accounting skillz wired tight). I figure it:

500 Chip Set

$450.00 (.90 X 500) Heavyweight chips
$75.00 (.15 X 500) Mold Rental
$300.00 Five denom special
$825.00 Total +s/h to whatever backwater burg you live in

$1.65/Chip for those keeping track
$1.28/chip if you do a thousand
$0.92/chip if you do twenty thousand...ha ha ha ha...er...

If you get just one inlay take off $150.00. No blanks or hotstamps so you'll have to spend at least $150.00 unless you already have paid for art in the past with BCC and are using it without alteration again.

For those interested we have a GB that's hovering on hold, I think mostly waiting to see what will happen here, wherein we'll get a rather generic inlay and split art costs (blessed by BCC already).

This is not official from MSP, BCC, JDunford, the Trilateral Commision or anyone else just the numbers as I understand them at present. Offer void in certain overseas territories. Tax, Title, and Delivery extra. Side effects include nausea, lowered cholesterol and bank account. T mold chips are not for everyone. If you are pregenant, use an inhaler, or get itchy during playoffs consult your physician. Not backed by the full faith and credit of the US Government.

Re: TMSC Round #2 - Discussion thread

Can you explain what the 5 denom special is?

edit: Found a link to answer my own question. FYI:

Is this any better? In this one I'm seeing a lot more chips that I like.
