Open letter to "Mr. Chip"

Mr. Chip,

Please advise as to when I gave permission to present my work on your site
as your own.

Get a life, and do something orginal, or at the very least ethical (do you need me to define this for you?)

Re: Open letter to "Mr. Chip"

This totally sucks Michael. Creativity is to be commended in all forms and stealing the work of others is pathetic and inexcusable. Thanks for bringing this to the attention of the community.

Re: Open letter to "Mr. Chip"

Did you read the copyright laws next to the picture of the plaque? Seems hypocritical...doesn't it?

"Copyright
We will protect your plaque design and will not allow anyone else to use it. Neither will we allow any design that violates international copyright and design protection laws. Your designs must be unique and not copies of existing plaques, company names, brand names, or logotypes, etc. Since we are sometimes unable to investigate the origin of a design the responsibility for this ultimately rests with the buyer."

Re: Open letter to "Mr. Chip"

Using your artwork without your consent is extremely unprofessional and very uncool.

Isn't Mr. Chip the sponsor who sells a lot of inexpensive Chinese-made "replica" chips? Maybe he's offering "replicas" of your plaques?

Yes, he is. I don't know the answer to the second Q, but it looks pretty shady, doesn't it?

Ripping off someone else's stuff like that is low. Doing it to another sponsor (not to mention the first, and one of, if not the most generous) is just stupid and bad for business. I'm glad you posted this publicly.

Re: Open letter to "Mr. Chip"

I would say that doing that is a shitebag thing to do, but that's being far too kind.

Thanks Mike for all you do for the hobby and the CT community.
