Flat Screen TV Geeks Only

Or for anyone who has an opinion.........

I have seen a number of threads on this topic and have read them all. I think

I am going to buy a 46" or a 52" TV this weekend.

All I really want to know is why I should NOT buy a Sony Bravia W-Series

I have done my comparisons and was wondering if there was any "real life"
experiences in the negative on this unit

Thanks!

Pretty good question. Sony is producing overall good products. I say if you like it, get it.

for the record, I have a 42" Phillips LCD tv.

32" bravia here, I get a clear signal straight through my antenna 1080i on most of the extra channels. 3.1,5.1,5.2, 8.1,8.2 etc...

We have a 42" and a 46" Sharp Aquos that we like very much. That's about the extent of my knowledge on the subject.

Re: Flat Screen TV Geeks Only

Sony quality is very good. Very 6-sigma. The first time a Sony product has power to it is when you turn it on.

Picture quality can be subjective - if it is acceptable to you - you can't go wrong with a Sony.

When the time comes for my new TV probably Feb-Mar time frame - it will be a Sony or a Sharp Aquos. The Aquos has the best energy efficiency and lightest phantom load of anything out there.

Good luck.

Just like this is the place to go for Chip info, AVSforum is the place to go for TV info. You'll get REAL WORLD info from mostly good people.

I think this may be a dangerous option.
Look at all the people who come to chiptalk just wanting a decent set of chips and end up with customs, and PNYs, and Vineyards, etc.

Scary.
