Chips: 9,900 | | | Re: Fun Nite Rarities In discussing the A/C rules and requirements with Archie Black, founder of the CC>CC and author of Blacks Catalogue of Atlantic City chips and tokens....
He said that when the casinos do the dress-rehersals, Gaming is all over the place. Everything is tested. Gaming, cocktail service, hotel operations (A/C casinos MUST have a hotel), restrooms, restaurants, the whole works and the public is invited!
It seems that slot machines are live (operating with real money) but all table games, KENO, etc. operate with play paper money or Fun Nite chips. Turns out the rehersal is also a big charity fund raising event. When you buy-in for the paper money or Fun Nite chips, you are doing so at a rate of real $5 for $100 play money.
At the end of the evening you cannot cash-in the chips or play money and all the buy-in money goes to a charity. So, this means that all the "Fun Nite" $5 chips we see cost 20 cents each at the rehersal event, $25's cost $1.25 each and $100's cost $5 each!

"I'd like $500 in chips please. Yes, that is correct, I'd like 10,000 Ones." |

If they were easier to obtain, I'd try to assemble a set of Fun Nites. As it is, I'll just admire the sets that other people obtain. |
