Chips: 13,247 | | | History of Zieglers card room chips I am trying to track down information on Zieglers card room & the poker chips they used. Last Sept. I bought a fairly large lot of them off ebay. I have been kinda "Sitting" on them since then. I just got them out of hibernation last night and have now renewed my interest in getting info. Anyone have any insight into this card room? From what I understand it was a small card room in Califonia. I will get pics/scans of the various chips i have an post them when i get home tonight. The majority of the chips are Paulson Hat&Cane chips. They are definitely used chips in various conditions. They all came in what looks likwe original chip boxes. I have a box of TRK Large crown chips with "Mattys card room" on them that came in the lot too.
Thanks in advance for the info

There are California experts that are accessible through TheChipBoard. There are two ways to get to their insight...
Either post your question and scans there and look for replies from Butch Reynolds, Stu "The Count" Lovett, **** Staeffler and a few others, or post everything here and obnnce you are done, I'll go there and point back to here.
You might also PM Smooth7 for his opinion.
LMK, or I'll figure it out if you post here and not there.

Although whataboutj's chips may be the same, we really won't know until we see the scans. Could be some undocumented gems in there.

Thanks for the heads-up, much appreciated. I was actually waiting for the scans also...the pdf didn't really show me much.
Thanks for looking out, though! |

Chips: 646 | | | Re: History of Zieglers card room chips FYI I monitored that auction on eBay and the hot-stamp matches the one in the PDF on John Kallman's site (the top-right chip). At least some of the chips match that stamp, there were a lot of chips in that lot! |

Chips: 9,900 | | | Re: History of Zieglers card room chips According to the 1998 Eastman Guide, the H&C chips are Christy and Jones and are valued at $13 - $18 each for the non-denominated chips. $36 - $45 for the $20 chip and $46 - $60 for the $100 chip.
Only the large crown and crest & seal chips are included in the Guide.
AGAIN!!!! The guide is from 1998. Nearly 10 years old and found quantities since then may have happened, which will change the values!!!!
Lets wait for the scans and get the opinion(s) of California collectors.

Chips: 13,247 | | | Re: History of Zieglers card room chips Thanks for the info guys. The hot stamped black & pink zielgelrs $1 H&C chip in the PDF that Cipaaq linked to is the exact chip style in the lot. There are quite a few different color combos in the lot and about 100 or more of each type. The conditions of them vary greatly from very used (hot stamp gone and edges rounded) to used but good (I am not very familiar with the rating system )
Unfotunately I was at the Cubs game last night (well not unfortunately since it was fun & they won ) so by the time I got home I did't get photos/scans done.
Jim if the prices you quoted are even close to what my chips are worth I am a very happy man (I know they can't be graded until you see pics of the various conditions)
I will try to get some pics taken today and scans tonight
