Re: Anyone know the history?

I believe these were made by the United States Playing Card Company. Probably in the 30's for home poker sets.

There was another post that had a link to a set of those on ebay, not sure which post it was though.

Fearlez, I am stuck here at work without...

my reference guides, but I suspect that these are plain, litho, USPS chips. They are generic and have no ties to a specific casino or gaming operation. Sold by the 10's of 1000's by the United States Playing Card company. They are probably in the $5 range (a collector's retail price). I can double check this evening and if different, I will re-post here.

Sure enough they run about $5 each...

retail. If sold in a set, the per chip value is reduced. The mold is "plain" and the inlay is "inlaid". Chips are clay composition. These are typically called "plain, inlaid wheel checks". They are generic and if used in a casino they are roulette chips. Otherwise they are used in home poker sets.
