I might agree with you, I have to think more about it. But two things going for it: Red matches the lipstick and is the end result of a gun in this jealous girl's hand. Other than the girl herself, the lipstick print and the gun are the two most important elements of the composition.

Hmmm...the reason I like the original better is because there isn't as much contrast. It was much more subtle, alluring, until you noticed the little details. Plus the change to red makes this more of a 3-color chip: black, red background, and pink outfit. The red and pink just don't blend together like the black background fading into the soft pink.

Red background=screaming red siren like a gunshot to the face

Black background=seductive embrace before you realize the barrel of the gun is pressed against your temple

Looks like we need another poll with three options.
I really feel strongly about it staying the way it was, and it seems alot of other people are too.

I like how you can get an overall feel for the set this way. Some people are voting for red on both chips, They will change their minds if they see them in this format.


Funny Thing , The only chip I do not like is Brandy and my wife thinks that chip looks great. I really liked having a yellow chip in the set.

Looking back at the overall set there could be a unified theme with the edge spots without too much overlap:

Yellow Rose - Pink chip w/yellow edge spots

Made in the USA - Blue chip w/red edge spots

Coffee, Tea, or Me? - Green chip w/blue edge spots

Storm Warning - Black chip w/pink edge spots

Mint Julip - Purple chip w/pink edge spots(the purple makes it look more like lavendar though)

Brandy - Orange chip w/cream edge spots

Lady in Red - Light red chip w/white edge spots (which would match her white gloves and flowers)

and American Beauty which is the lone exception with the Red White & Blue look.


All the chips would have an edge color that matches the chip and an edge color that ties in with an article of clothing.

When speaking of subtle details, remember we won't have as much resolution on the final chips, Thereofre subtle may not exist.
