Absolutely agree. This lady needs to be on a different color chip.
I think you guys are on to something here.
Too much red. Agree with all of the above.

Ok guys, I hear you, but any other suggestions?

Putting LadyInRed on the green chip, and CoffeTeaOrMe on the red chip (like Ghost suggested) will lead to a 3rd red & blue chip (counting the RWB), and 4 chips with red on them!

Matching clothes to the accent color is proving to be a bit restrictive!

I understand the reason for doing this, but I don't want it to hamper the set as a whole. For instance, I personally (along with a few others), preferred the blue chip with the dark blue accents, though matching the red looks pretty nice too.

Ten & I are currently weighing the options.

Re: Pinups - Different Shades of RED

Ok, I'm in the minority here - and a female at that - but, just have to put my 2 cents in. I like the Old Red with the Dark Spots (#3), I think the look is super!! But, I agree that the background is a tad too dark red. Perhaps if it was lightened up a bit, to make the subject stand out more, it would make a difference. Anyway, just my thoughts......

You don't really have a white chip yet, other than the RW&B job.
How about making the background for the Lady in Red be white/light grey?

Johnny5,

Very good point so........

perhaps since the original yellow chips is now pink...........how bout her on a pale yellow background then........edgespots could be red, black, white or even the grey that is already on them.......

Ok, please excuse the FNG posts..........

I just went and looked at the original background and it is almost all purple .........when viewed from a distance away. I also looked at the purple chips orignial background and noticed it was cream colored when viewed from a distance....so perhaps cream, white, or pale yellow background for her instead and purple backround for this chip.

But being the FNG and seeing how this develops for the first time is really incredible, all I can say is dam this way cool. I have caught the bug and am hooked I will never look at any chip the same again.

Hope this helps spawn some ideas..........keep up the good work

I did vote for the old chip, BUT I think that the lighter background (#2) gives it's detail up a little better (I'm curious if the linen finish won't obscure it some - but confident it will not) Anyway, what I really think is that the lighter background would work with the edge and spots of the darker chip? This has been one of the more thought provoking issues so far...

the truth? I think each and every red mockup we're seeing is near-perfect, it's just deciding which is closest

This didn't turn out well at all. The Laady in Red on a green chip looks like christmas no matter how you do it. Can't happen.

I'll entertain other ideas though. Color swaps with another girl, since we are happy with eight colors... and we MUST have a red.
